Sanibel Island - need hotel recommendation

Can anyone recommend a deluxe beachfront place to stay in Sanibel? Thanks in advance.

We stayed at Tortuga Beach Club Resort. It was very nice and a great location right when you cross over to the island.

Sundial. Great location, have a great kids program in place if the adults want to go do something on their own.

The units are condos, complete with a full kitchen.

P.S. We've actually stayed in Sanibel many times but always with our dog in a pet friendly place. Sadly, our dog passed away so it will just be dh and myself. The pet friendly places, while right on the beach, were always slightly run-down. Plus, I don't want to go back to any of the same places. This time we were hoping for something more "deluxe" but I am not sure if that is possible in Sanibel.

Stayed at the Tween Waters Inn in Captiva this April. Although I wouldn't call it a deluxe, it was wonderful Beautiful location, nice rooms and free buffet breakfast. Worth checking out- we had 2 pool room views with screened in balcony- loved it.

We stayed here a few years back and it was lovely..I thought Captiva was the prettiest part of the island...

For luxury I would suggest South Seas on Captiva. You can rent a timeshare, Hotel room, villa or private home. There is a trolley for transportation on the grounds and I believe it still takes you to the village on Captiva. Most accomodations have a pool just for that complex and there is a beautiful main pool on the north tip of the plantation.

There is a golf course, a few restaurants and shops on site. You can rent cabanas at the main pool. There is also rental for water sports on site. You can rent golf carts to get around on, also bicycles.
