Sanford to Saratoga

I am coming over from the UK for a weeks vacation mainly to play golf so for the first time I am not going to be driving at all.

My question is what is the best way to get from sanford airport to saratoga springs? Is there a bus service? What would it cost for a cab? and what other options would i have?

Your choices from Sanford,

Rent a car.
You can do a one way with a drop at the Car Care Center or the Swan/Dolphin and then rent one way at either for the return trip. You can usually get a one way rental from national or Alamo for $50-60.

Hire a Town Car / Limo.
Costs about 2X the cost from MCO.

Shuttle Bus.
Cost about $40 per person each way. Aligiant has a deal for $21 P/P for customers who fly them to Sanford (but that won't help you )

Taxi.
That is going to be VERY expensive.

Thanks for your response, when you say one way rental is that just for a day i.e. pick up the car from airport drop luggage off etc and take the car back to the dolphin.

A one way rental works like this.

You would rent a car at the airport and return it to one of the rental agencies on property. You would do the same thing for your return, rent at disney and return to the airport.

Remember that the rental period is 24 hours, this gives you a chance to go somewhere off property if you like before turning in the car. You can also turn in the car right after you get to Disney, but you won't get any additional discounts / fees back if you do.

Also from Sanford, SR 417 is your best route and it costs about $6 in tolls each way to use it.

Just wanted to chime in -- we rented a car from Sanford to the Boardwalk Villas and similar to you, we were able to stop for some shopping on the way in. We grabbed groceries for our villa and once we got onto Disney property and unloaded everything, we just returned the car the Dolphin. On the way home, we had another one way rental (pickup at Dolphin and drop of at the airport). You could drop off and pick up at the Car Care Center and I believe they'll shuttle you back to Saratoga. Based on our experience I think you've made a good choice!

(Make sure you take 417 to WDW instead of I-4. You'll pay about $6 in tolls but won't have to deal with as much traffic!)
