Hello.....we were thinking of flying in using Sanford instead of Mco......TMA is less expensive........any feedback concerning this airport would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks Bob

We flew into Sanford in October via TMA. The airport is basic, a small magazine and snack shop, a quick food eatery, rental car spots and shuttle spots, not much else. It takes about 20 minutes longer each way from Sanford to Disney or Universal than the Orlando International and the Towncars charge about 50-60 dollars more round trip to pick up/drop off there. It was fine for us as all we wanted was a place to sit until the plane took us away.
As far as TMA, the flight was nice, shorter than others it seemed, and they served meals. Just beware of their cancellation policy as they are a charter flight and are not obligated to book you on another flight if they cancel theirs.

Thanks!
we're using TMA/Sanford for the first time in June as well. I can't finalize the ressies until their July dates come up after the first of the year. (we'll be returning around July 3).
Could you give me a price estimate on your transportation to/from Sanford and did you book direct or have a travel agent do it for you?

We booked our flight online which was easy and you save an extra 5%. Our tickets from Syracuse to Orlando were about $65/each way and are now about $79/each way. Towncars to Universal where we went were $150-$190, depending on the company and I assume they would be more for Disney as it is farther. We used a shuttle van, coach USA, for our transport to the hotel which was $40/round trip per person for Universal to save cash, but for a family a towncar would be cheaper.

We're flying into Sanford in March.
I've looked into limo/towncar service. I've got a few quotes most around $160-$180. There is a list of those that serve Sanford on the Sanford Airport web site.
Disney charges over $200 for Mears shuttle.
Are there any companies to stay away from? Or any specifically to recommend?
Thanks,
Mid-Night Owl

I had better luck last year renting a car from National in Snaford and then dropping it off at the Disney Car Care center the next morning. We did the same thing for the return. Saved about $100 and had a car to get us to the airport on departure day so we didn't have to freak out worrying aout late lio drivers, etc.
