Sandusky - trial

On our local tv it said that even though victims 2, 5, and 6 were found not guilty on one count each, he was convicted on other counts involving those victims. He was found guilty against all of the boys.
Ah, I see. Info coming fast and furious and piecemeal.

One of his lawyers (Rominger) is talking about appealing...witnesses were coached by police during questioning, he couldn't get any delays that he requested before the trial, yada yada yada. Shut up.

The victims showed such steadfast courage. This night, I hope is the beginning of a long path to some healing.

:thumbsup2

Jerry Sandusky anit the only Jerry Sandusky out there, lets hope the people that did nothing go to prison also, to let people know it anit ok to cover up your ears when you here about children getting raped

I agree. I hope that victims know they can speak out and be believed, and that when someone sees or hears something they do something.

He was found NOT GUILTY of the charges against the victim that Mike McQueary (sp?) witnessed, who did not testify. :sad2:

I can actually see this. That idiot McQueary told twenty different versions of his story so I can see why the jury would question anything that came out of his mouth. I do believe he witnessed a rape but they probably had a hard time buying that he truly saw a rape since he didn't bother doing anything about it. :sad2:

Joe Amendola (defense attorney)...Sandusky family disappointed, but they respect the jury. He's said from the beginning that it would be an uphill battle. He didn't get the continuances he asked for, to go over everything sufficiently. Prosecution presented the case in an exemplary manner, judge was fair/firm/reasonable. They expected this outcome. There are a number of appeal issues to pursue. The whole case was planned out with the expectation that Sandusky WOULD testify...he wanted to testify...but they didn't because of Matt Sandusky coming forward and they didn't want to set up JS to have Matt Sandusky testify against him. Mrs (?) Sandusky and the other 5 adopted children of theirs were allegedly ready to testify against Matt.

Joe just said that there are many people in prisons are innocent, and he's getting a verbal bashing from the crowd. He believes the jury acted genuinely and in good faith based on the evidence presented, and they were a good jury.

He has no idea why Matt is coming forward with this story now; the family is shocked...parents, siblings. Jerry said that Matt has had problems which led him to do irrational things. :headache: Jerry is disappointed by the verdict, but has to live with it.

Jurors will not speak to the media tonight. I bet they're drained.

Jerry said that Matt has had problems which led him to do irrational things.

Yes I'm sure if my father was a child molester and molested me and countless others I would "have problems" and be "irrational" too.

Thank god this nightmare of a human being didn't walk. I hope he never sees the light of day again.

Thank God he was found guilt - his hell is just beginning :guilty:. Justice has been served, now praying his victims can begin the healing process :thumbsup2! May all those at Penn State that turned a blind eye for the sake for prestige and football gets theirs too!

Wooooooooooo!

I know it ain't over technically (damn you appeals), but HALLE-freakin'-LUJIAH!!

Denial. Not just a river in Egypt.

:sad2:

So very happy with this. Justice. Let the civil trials begin. Hit all protectors in the pocketbook now.

Thank goodness! Those brave young men who testified, they are heroes and should be proud of themselves. This kind of evil cannot be swept under the rug and ignored. The publicity around this will hopefully help victims of pedophiles in the future, whether giving them the courage to speak up or preventing adults from turning a blind eye.

I can't imagine how glad Sandusky's victims are to see him led away to jail. For the rest of his miserable life.

Wow. Joe Amendola (defense) is an ***. He's being "cute" and lighthearted and folksy getting hooked up to speak with Anderson Cooper. Listen...I'm glad Sandusky was convicted, but there's nothing funny about any of this.

Now he's speaking seriously, but sounds pretty confident about the possibility of getting the convictions overturned (I think?) on appeal. Might not be exactly what he said...I'm not watching the TV that I can rewind.

Sounds like a classy guy.

Did he ask if the person he was going to be speaking with was "cute?" I could swear that's what he said. What a pig.

Amen! What pain they've been through for so many years. They traded in so much for testifying but in the end they were justified. Absolutely, I pray they heal now, I've seen the lifelong repercussions of childhood abuse and it's horrendous, especially for those who love this person. Jerry will get his... and hopefully his foul mouthed stupid wife will burn in hell with him soon, too.

I just wish drawing and quartering was an option for sentencing. I really hope he gets a cellmate like Christopher Scarver.

Sounds like a classy guy.
Yeah, he was. :crazy2: Isn't he the guy who got a 16 yr old client pregnant when he was in his 40s, and then they got married? Or was that another lawyer?
Did he ask if the person he was going to be speaking with was "cute?" I could swear that's what he said. What a pig.
I think he did. Yeah, "pig" works for me.

Marcia Clark says, in her many years of experience, it's highly unlikely that this verdict would be reversed on appeal.

Sandusky will most likely not be put in the general population in prison. No surprise there.

Yep, that's the guy. Kind of makes Baez look good, doesn't he? :scared:
