SanDisk Ultra II SD 2GB Memory Card $19.99 @ RadioShack

Thanks! I hurried out and got 3 for my new camera!

Sweet deal. I'll have to swing by and pick one up. Thanks! We already have one of those cards, and a 1 GB Kingston. I certainly wouldn't mind an extra 2GB for backup (or long vacations...)

Thanks, Jeanne. I bought two and I think I'm going to go back and get two more.

Caution: they're over the counter. The salesman at first gave me the regular 2GB cards, not the Ultra - they're the same cost. I really wanted the high speed cards so I'm glad I noticed the difference.

Thanks Jeanne B!! and staples is in the same plaza as our radio shack on this side of town

I went by yesterday and bought two, clearing out the store, but I'm thinking of going to another radioshack here in town today and try and buy two more. Since these are my first SD cards I've bought I want to make sure I have plenty of memory since I plan on shooting a lot of RAW pics. :cool1:

I picked up 2 today... thanks for the heads up... got mine at staples. Manager tried to not do it, making out like it was an online thing only. But he called and checked. Maybe I should get at least one or two more??? :rotfl: (took the last 2 that staples had, so would have to go to RS).

got another one yesterday, will dedicate on for nursing school things... saw in one of the flyers in paper this morning that they now have SD Extreme III (dont recall price though). Thanks again for that post Jeanne B!

I ended up picking up 2 yesturday.

I now have more memory space with my SD cards for my camrea than I did with my first PC. I believe my first PC had a 10GB hard drive. I now have 12GB in SD cards. gezzz. Times change.

I didn't buy my own PC till the late 90's. Before that I would just use the one I had at work or my roommates.

The first computer we used at my parents house was a keyboard that connected to a tape player and the TV. That was pretty much it. We used it for a few games and a typing tutor.

In early 96' one of my roommates bought a brand new Gateway PC and he upgraded the hard drive to 1GB. I remember him saying that should give him more than enough room. Of course that was before digital camera's, MP3's and video files. He also upgraded the modem to 33.3K, 56K hadn't really been out long and the internet company he was using at the time wasn't yet putting out the 56K.

I had downloaded a few pictures off the internet and put 1 of them as my desktop background on my computer at work and one of the IT guys got a little bent out of shape because it was a big file at the time (probably a little less than 1MB because I could fit it along with 2 or 3 other pics on a 1.44MB floppy disk). I know it was in '95 because WIN95 was already out for a good while, but the company had decided not to upgrade yet and we were still using WIN 3.1 I think it was. So a 500K picture was cause for concern with all the software we were already using and I'm sure the HD was probably less than 500MB.

I think I have you all beat. We had an Atari 800 computer. It was some high tech stuff back then and now I honestly think my toaster has more processing power. From there we upgraded to an IBM PCjr.

We bought a couple of the SanDisk Ultra II SD cards from Radio Shack yesterday, we got the last two that they had. It's an awesome deal, because the 1GB card was $49.99!

Oh, and my DH had an Atari 800 too! The first computer we had when we got married had a 5 1/4" floppy drive and no hard drive! (We got married in 1990)We thought we had really come a long way when we upgraded a couple years later to a computer with a 30MB hard drive!

I just went by and bought four. Tomorrow I am getting another two for my sister. I asked how much they were originally and was told 79.00. Even the 1 gb next to it was 59.00. What a deal!

Got three here, thanks much, Jeanne.

First PC, TI99/4A; first 'real' PC, double floppy IBM; first hard drive, 20 meg Dell (then, before name change, company was called PC Limited) ($400 upgrade from a 10 meg :faint: )

And to think that many of us now shoot RAW files that take ~15MB.

When I got my first pc that was my very own, I thought it was almost a waste of space with my 500MB drive that I used compression on to get almost 1GB. I never thought I could fill it. I also thought it was blazing fast at 386/40.

Just went out and bought the last three from my local radio shack think that I should now have more than enough memory now for my trip to disney and beyond. thanks for the tip:cool1:

Thank you!! I picked up 2 at our local store, left one on the shelf for the next lucky person!!:goodvibes
