SanDisk SD card for Panasonic or Panasonic SD card?

I just got the Panasonic LZ3 yesterday & am wondering about the SD card. Will it take the SanDisk SD card or do I have to get a Panasonic? According to SanDisk site, it isn't showing Panasonic for compatible.. and on Panasonic site it shows onl Panasonic SD cards to buy??? I know Target said they would not reccommend the Lexmark SD card for that camera... help!!!!
If I wasn't leaving on Saturday for Disney, I wouldn't be so worried.. need to get card before I go. TIA

As far as I know, Panasonic don't make their own SD card anymore.

I don't like Lexar (due to mysteriously disappearing images when used with Canon dSLR regardless of model), but I don't see why Lexar won't work at all with your Panasonic camera.

Is there a video-recording mode on your camera? If yes, then it's an issue with data recording speed. It doesn't matter which brand you choose as long as they're fast enough you'll be okay. My money is on Sandisk Ultra II or to be safe Sandisk Extreme III.

Yes there is a video mode on the camera but I really don't think I will use it. The guy at Target said that Lexar (I did say Lexmark earlier thinking of printer) is sometimes rejected by some cameras. He said it "should" be ok but he would not reccommend.. The Panasonic site still sells them & so does Ebay.. not that I have time to get it from Ebay.. but looked there because I couldn't find them listed in any store... thanks for your help ...

I have the FZ20, and I use 2 Panasonic card, 1 Lexar and 1 Canon card, and I have never had a problem with using any of them.

I have the Panasonic TZ1 and it uses the SD card. I use the Sandisk Ultra II without any problem. Mine are 1GB.

Yup, Panasonic still sells their brand of SD cards, but not they are re-badged items, no longer made in their factory. To my knowledge, at least.
