I planned to pickup some more Sandisk 2GB extreme cards with the new rebate out there, but it appears to only be for 4GB and up. Has anyone seen a current rebate form that allows 2GB purchases also?
Yes I know I can just get the 4GB, but I wanted to pick up a couple more 2GB at this time :)

If you are a Costco member, I saw they have 2gb sd 4 pack for $27.99. Sometimes they have coupons and it's even cheaper. Buydig has the same card for $8.99 each with free ship.

If you are talking about the Extreme III SDHC cards, I noticed the same thing about the rebate (no longer includes the 2gb). I also found that when you are doing the math...if you do the "stock up and save" with the 4GB or the 8GB, you can end up with more memory for the same amount of money if you go the 8GB cards.

4gb cards = $135 for 3 cards - $60 rebate = $75 total/3 = $25 per card
8gb cards = $165 for 3 cards - $90 rebate = $75 total/3 = $25 per card

In this situation, unless someone really prefers the smaller card size, they would buy the 8gb cards, getting double the memory for the same amount of money in the end.

Where would I find this rebate?

There are only certain sites that the SanDisk rebate goes though...the one I have used is Adorama. In September I ended up getting 6 4gb Extreme III SDHC cards (every card also came with a SanDisk card reader) for $10 each (after rebate). It was a great deal considering the full price of the cards was something like $35 each.

If you go onto Adorama.com, select the memory card you are interested in it'll give you the price after rebate on the main page (if you click your specific card it'll tell you the price before rebate). Below the price, you can download the form. There is a maximum of 3 cards per purchaser and you can stock up and save (i.e. if you buy two, the price of each card after the rebate is less per card than if you just bought one).

They seem to ALWAYS be running this rebate and I really love these cards, so I'll definitely be taking advantage again sometime soon.

Cool, do you recall if it was the SanDisk Extreme III SD cards for that price in-store? I was checking their website and it looked like the 4 pack of the slower Ultra II cards were more then the price you mentioned.

I believe the price in store was for the ultra II. I also notice the web price on things are more than in store sometimes.

Do you think if I bought them last fall and got a rebate I could get a rebate now since this has different dates?

I doubt it, since you have to send in the UPC from the barcode as well as the invoice to prove that you bought them at one of the specified stores that the rebate applies to.

I looked on Adorama and I don't think you are comparing the same cards. The "regular" Extreme III 4GB card that writes at 20mb/s is $34.95 before rebate so $14.95 after rebate. It is the Class 6 that writes at 30mb/s that would be $24.95 after rebate. The Class 6 8gb is $44.95 after rebate.

The 8GB are cheaper per GB but not half as cheap.

Sorry. I think you misunderstood me. I already got the rebate on the ones I bought in the fall. I was wondering if I could buy MORE and get another rebate. Does the change in dates make this a new offer that I could qualify for?

As an aside....I bought 3 Extreme III 4GB cards in October. I used one of the cards one time and when I tried to use it at WDW it was "locked". I took the card out of my camera and the little plastic slide was missing. I called SanDisc and they said physical damage nullified the warranty. I told them I used it once and it was either in my camera or in a case. I didn't get anywhere on the phone so I emailed them and they did say I could take pictures of the card and email it to them. I did that and they finally agreed to replace the card. I just put the old one in the mail today.

I did find it "interesting" that they have a special line dedicated to the Extreme III card. I wonder if they have lots of problems with them.

You're right. The 8gb are cheaper per gig in the long run, I was comparing the class 6 v. a regular, didn't realize one was gray and one was black when I was writing the prices. :guilty:

I did misunderstand you. I would go ahead and send in for another rebate. I don't think it's one rebate in your lifetime, I believe it is one rebate per period. I have done the rebate thing twice (once for 3x4gb cards and the second time for another 3x4gb cards) and got my first rebate no problem and the second one is coming up as "processing" or whatever on SanDisk's website, so I'm guessing you can do the rebate once per rebate period. :thumbsup2

I'll probably buy 3 more cards this rebate period before it's over and then wait until Thanksgiving to see if Ritz has any Black Friday deals going on memory like they did in 08 and then stock up with some more.
