I was reading Palo dress code for review. I was surprised to see no sandals for women. I understand flip flops but no sandals

You can wear nice, dressy sandals in Palo for Brunch, as far as I know. Not sure about dinner, but generally the dress code for Palo is the same for dinner and brunch.

Where are you seeing "no sandals"? This is from the DCL website:

Dress to Impress
To preserve the elegant ambiance of this restaurant, you are asked to adhere to a dress code when dining at Palo. We recommend dress pants or slacks and a collared shirt for men, and a dress, skirt or pants and a blouse for women. Jeans may also be worn if in good condition (no holes). Please no tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, shorts, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing, t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics, flip-flops or tennis shoes.

I think I mixed it up with Remy.

Remy states - “no capris”. So can I wear capris to Palo brunch?

I think there may be different interpretations of what constitutes "sandals". If you're wearing a pair of flat open-toed shoes with no back strap and/or that slot between the big and second toe - that's probably a sandal and probably what they mean. That is a fairly casual shoe even though it's not exactly a flip-flop. I would argue that an open toed dressy shoe with a back strap, not slotted between the toes but happens flat is a dress shoe, not a sandal. That's typically what I wear because I can no longer wear anything with a substantial heel. The only difference between my strappy dress shoes that I used to wear and the ones that I now wear is heel height. And they've always been sold as dress shoes, not sandals.

I’ve worn nice dressy sandals to both Palo and Remy no problem. I don’t wear heels and have worn these shoes to Victoria and Albert’s and Michelin Star restaurants with no issue either.

I actually asked before our brunch if I could wear the brown pair (custom made orthotic flip flops) as I have chronic plantar fasciitis and was suffering a horrible flare up when we cruised. If it was not ok, I would have found a way to suffer through with the dress shoes I brought for the couple hours. They said it was fine to wear them and they had many people show up in nicer and not so nice flip flops and didn't turn people away.

I wear Sandal at Palo’s all the time. However they are nice sandals one would wear for work or with a sun dress ... they are not flip flops, teva or sports sandals.
