Both my DH/DS & I are in need of suggestions for good sandals to walk 14hrs in Disney with. We do have some specifics though. We have varying foot issues (me mostly: plantar fascitis, joint issues), so we are looking for something with soles that are kind of squishy & have give to them . For the guys, they are looking for the same kind of sole, straps that aren't super thick, & overall lightweight. For me, I'm looking for the same, but the straps have to be few & thin. These are my go to sandals now & they work pretty well but there's a lot of straps & I just need something different to swap every other day. We aren't interested in any sneakers or the like, crocs, flip flops or slide on. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

For your DH and DS I would look into Reef sandals... They have a good sole, and are comfortable. They make the same style for women as well, but the straps aren't thin... So they may not be something you're interested in.

Crocs Sandles or flipflops - both SUPER comphy and great for walking long days in the park - i get mine at Famous Footwear

Check out Keen or Chaco sandals. I wear Keens and love them. My DW--who has had various foot and knee issues--swears by Chacos and my DS (18) is wearing them now too. Keens have a closed toe if that's important, while Chacos are going to be more open. Both provide good support and are waterproof.

I also have foot issues (prior surgery on both feet) and I have several pairs of flip flops and sandals by Crocs, Keens, Teva, and Sanuk. My favorite by far have been my Sanuk Yoga Sling 2 sandals. They are so comfortable! I wore my Keens to Epcot two years ago and while they are good for walking, they're harder on the bottom of my feet and when they got wet, they caused terrible blisters on the top of my feet where the straps rubbed. The Teva mush are squishy and comfortable and the crocs harder harder soles.
The Sanuk yoga slings are made from yoga mats and are very squishy. The straps are cloth and don't rub. The only thing I would watch is if you are going on a rainy day (like raining all day) the cloth straps will get wet. On our trip in May to WDW, I wore Sanuks every day with no issues, as did two of my dd's. I buy mine from Amazon.

I was a big fan of Teva Terra-fi's though I've heard the latest iterations aren't as good as the originals. Mine had a "medium" top with a hard bottom that was a good combination of comfort vs support for me.

You might also try some lighter running shows like the Nike Free Run 5.0 or Free RN Motion flyknit. Get something like a mesh top and, while not as open as sandals, should still be very comfortable.

Dansko - by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I wear their sandals all day, every day in Disney. Much more comfortable than sneakers. So many styles.

When wearing sandals don't forget sunscreen on your feet!

I have pretty bad plantar fasciitis and have been wearing Vionics for the past year including 4 trips to Disney. They are the only shoes I seem to be able to wear and not have pain because they have great arch support. They have a variety of sandals but for a casual walking sandal I really like the women's Mojave. They do have men's sandals as well, but I have no experience with them.

Oh, dh and ds2 swear by their Keen Newport H2 sandals for all the same reasons. Ds1 wears them at my insistence on water days, but he hates sandals of any kind...

Are you saying you do NOT want crocs? There are SO MANY styles including some that would fit your description of needs.
