Sand Ceremony Question

I've read through a few planning journals where people are having a sand ceremony. I when I emailed Rev. Knox to see the sample ceremonies, he said that we'd have to have our own jars and sand, etc.

Can we buy these from Disney when we get the decorations for the location too? Or could we just go get our own? Also, will if we say we're having this, will Disney provide a little table for it?

We're looking into Sea Breeze Point, if that helps anything. :)

Thanks!

We had a sand ceremony at Sea Breeze Point and Disney provided a table. We purchased the sand and jars from them for $25.00, but you can provide your own if you want to.

Another quick question along the same line - did Disney charge you for the table for the sand ceremony and if so, how much?

Linda

There wasn't a charge for the table and the ribbons on the containers were included in the $25.

I'm surprised they don't charge a table and linen rental. They charge for setup for just about everything else. :lmao:

Thats why I asked - our phone planning session is this coming Monday and then we are heading down to WDW in May for an in person session. I want to have some idea on what we can get. Our ceremony is in Italy so we would also want a table set up.

Thanks for the info on the table.

Linda

Was it $25 for all 3 jars and sand? That's great! I figured it would be priced per item. Do you get to pick the colors you want?

you get to choose the colors for the sand and the ribbons. We only kept the center jar that has the sand in it now. I don't know what happened to the other two, but we weren't worried about the empty ones.

yes we just had our planning session and were told we would only keep the jar with the sand. I think i'm going to see if i can buy one outside of disney

I read someone's TR and they used this company: http://www.forevermemories.com/bottles_purchase.htm

and had the sand ceremony kit delivered straight to Disney for when they arrived.

It's a lot cheaper too - as is everything compared to over here
I might email this one and ask them about shipping to Disney.

Does anyone know what the procedure is for shipping any items to Disney - do you need to call the hotel reception and tell them to expect it? Is there a maximum timescale ahead of time that they will accept it (eg no further out than 1 month)?

Here you go, I got this from http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/wdw/resorts/resfaq.html

Can I get mail delivered while I am staying at a WDW resort?

You can have mail delivered to you at your hotel, have the envelope addressed like this-

Mickey Mouse(guest)
Disney's Polynesian Resort
PO Box 10,000
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-1000

HOLD FOR ARRIVAL <<<<---- This goes in the lower left corner

(List Scheduled Date on the envelope.)

It doesn't say how far ahead you can ship items, but you could give them a call and double-check.

Someone posted that they won't deliver to a PO Box number so have a look here http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/wdw/resorts/index.html for the resort addresses

Cool, thanks for this :thumbsup2
How can you make sure that it says hold for arrival in the lower left corner if it's being shipped direct from the company at not you personally though?
I think I'll ask this when I email them, probably tonight.
