Sanaa or Jiko....or somewhere else....

Ok last one...I promise....for now.

I was totally set on Jiko but have seen a slew of not so great reviews. We have been to Sanaa twice; once for dinner and once for bread service and wine and loved it both times. We are staying at AKV. We also have Wine Wednesday at Jiko but there is not a meal with that.

We share at every meal so cost is not a huge concern, I mean it matters, but its not the deciding factor.

We haven't been in 6 years and other than Raglan Road (DH's must do) we are planning on all new TS restaurants.

So Jiko, Sanaa, or somewhere else? We don't have any real time constraints that day unless by some miracle we score a FOP FP.

I would try Jiko if you haven't been. We gone twice and have always enjoyed our meal.

If you've not tried Jiko, I would try there. We ate there for the first time back in October and it was tied for our favorite meal, with CG Brunch. I have heard some not so great reviews since January, but there are not so great reviews for every place, so who knows. I haven't ever tried Sanaa so I can't compare.

Totally different experiences and type of food.
Sanaa is indian inspired and more informal.
Jiko is African inspired and a more formal atmosphere. We have never had a bad meal or service there. If you have never tried it, I would try it once and see for yourself.

We have GC brunch as well; good news on both counts! True about the not-so-good reviews...I guess everywhere has them.

I have not had African food before; DH has and loves all things African. He has traveled to Sierra Leone 3x. We can't afford a trip to Africa for our anniversary so we thought AKV is the next best thing.

Jiko! Our favorite restaurant in Disney. Sanaa is nice for the Savannah view, but I found the food to be underwhelming and pretty typical Indian food that you can get anywhere. Jiko is on par with AAA 4-diamond rated restaurants and has a lot of unique options.

Jiko was a one and done for us. It was quite good, but we're not into the fine dining experience (steamed hand towels, for example), so much as just really good food (don't care about atmosphere as long as it's not gross). Jiko's food was good, but we were at least equally happy at Sanaa for significantly less money, and it felt more relaxed.

We have reservations at Via Napoli, Liberty Tree Tavern before MNSSHP, Boma for breakfast and dinner, The Wave for breakfast, Citricos, Trail's End for brunch, and California Grill. We plan on doing Raglan Road and Homecomin' for lunch as well but haven't made reservations. We're doing 8 days so luckily we have enough time to try a little bit of everything. We'd love to fit Skipper's Canteen and Chefs De France into our plans, but we'll see how everything falls into place. I could see us cancelling Via Napoli, Trail's End. and either of the Boma reservations as we get closer to the trip. We're more "go with the flow" and like to eat when we feel we're ready.

DH enjoys fancy much more than I do for sure. There are a few menu items that sound intriguing to me; he said he'll look at the menu on the plane.

Sounds wonderful! We have some maybe plans as well that I can see us cancelling those. With this 180 day madness, maybe/back up plans are necessary. LOL.
