San Diego hotel help

Any suggestions on a hotel close the airport? Shuttle would need to be provided and restaurant within walking distance.

DH and I are spending one night on the way to Maui, and one night on the way back.

I found one on Orbitz that seems to be a good deal. Bay Club Hotel & Marina- has anyone ever stayed there?

The downtown hotels by the convention center and gaslamp are a short cab ride away. Plenty of eating options in walking distance.Some may have a shuttle, but we just used a cab to go to/from the airport.

Holiday Inn Bayside has a free shuttle and a pizza place and some other restaurant across the street.

My favorite is Homewood Suites Liberty Station. Very close to the airport, and I just checked their web site and confirmed that they have shuttle service. Beautiful walking trails nearby, pool, and several restaurants right in the complex. Check out this thread:

There's also a Courtyard by Marriott that is right next to the Homewood Suites.

You may also want to look at either Harbor or Shelter Island areas. Both are close and should provide shuttles. There's a Sheraton on Harbor Island and Shelter Island has a Hilton. I keep seeing articles about a hotel on Shelter Island that was recently redone but the name completely escapes me right now.
