We are taking a cruise down to San Diego at the end of September; once we disembark we are taking Amtrak up to Anaheim.

Where is the closest Amtrak station in relation to the cruise ship terminal; is it walkable or do we need a cab? Thank you!

Main San Diego Amtrak station (SAN) is less than half a mile walk from the cruise terminal. Just check for walking directions on Google Maps and you should be good to go. It's maybe three long blocks. South on N Harbor, east on W Broadway for two blocks, and north on Kettner.

I'd put up a Google Maps link, but I'm using iOS and the app or web version doesn't supply links. It says 9 minutes.

That's very helpful, thank you very much!

A map should make it really clear:

There are other ways to get there, but they're not shorter since you'd need to get to W Broadway since you can't cut across the train tracks at the station. Here's the SAN Amtrak station info:

I also found a picture that I can embed:

Santa Fe Station...walk there. It will be much faster than trying to hail a cab. It is very safe to walk between the two locations.

The Santa Fe station is actually less than 3 blocks west from the cruise ship terminal. It is a very easy walk
