Our high school band made it to the state competition which will be in San Antonio, this Monday!!!!
I was just handed the task of finding a restaurant that can accommodate 200 people for Sunday night, Nov. 6th. Any suggestions? Mi Tierra is booked as well as Hard Rock. Café Ole and Rio Rio is available but I have read some pretty bad reviews. We need a place that is nice, but around the $20 mark per person. We are staying in the La Cantera area but don't mind driving a little bit, we have 3 charter buses.

Thanks!

Casa Rio, on the river walk is delicious! Love that place & prices are good.
I don't know if they do groups that big but they might.

Hi v.t

We ate once at Maggiano's little Italy in SA by Six Flags. I think they had a large party of kids for a school dance or something. Not sure if it was as many as 200. You may also ask La Cantera if they have any suggestions they may even have something available.

Good Luck to your band at State!

I would think Casa Rio should be fine for a high school group unless they're all members of the Society for the Preservation of Authentic Mexican Cuisine. It's an iconic San Antonio Riverwalk landmark serving basic Americanized Tex Mex-enchiladas, tacos, etc. DH and the kiddos love it. It's also extremely well priced for the Riverwalk.

My suggestion would probably be La Cantera Resort, they have meetings rooms that can hold that many and can probably cater for $20/per person OR if you have three charter busses (we have done this for other large groups) split them up about 66 in each group, - then have them sign up for one of three restaurants that can accommodate 70people. Restaurants like Maggianos, Casa Rio and maybe a BBQ restaurant. I would also have a pre set menu that everyone can choose from before they get to the restaurant

thanks so much. Everything suggested was either booked, too small or out of our price range. I ended up with Alamo Cafe. I know it is not the greatest but it is close and they can seat everyone at one time. Other suggestions will be saved for the math state trips.
Thanks again!

If you don't get some Rudy's BBQ in your belly at least 17 times you will regret it!
