Trying to plan something fun but close by and not too expensive for Thanksgiving.

Any suggestions for this area. Good places to eat that will be open on Thanksgiving. Any fun or cool activities for Thanksgiving Day?

We're heading to Fredericksburg for Octoberfest and we love it there but not sure if anything will be open on T-Day.

San Antonio is one of our favorite Texas cities but have never visited on a holiday.

Appreciate any help.

We'd arrive on Wednesday afternoon/early evening and stay over to shop on Black Friday.

Most of the Riverwalk restaurants are open as well as the nicer resorts. The JW Marriott is gorgeous and would be good for a special occasion meal. Also, if you like SeaWorld, their Christmas Party is really fun and in full swing that week. They are open Thanksgiving day and one of their restaurants changes it's menu for the season and serves a traditional holiday meal. For theme park food, it's not bad.

The riverwalk will be all decked out for the holidays so that would be something fun to see on Thanksgiving day. Also the zoo will probably be free that day. Most of the hotels on the Riverwalk will have Thanksgiving day menu/and or buffet set up that will not be too expensive. Check their websites for their special thanksgiving day celebrations/menus. Have fun. I love San Antonio too:)

The lights on the RW are not turned on until the day after Thanksgiving. There is a big ceremony and parade that night.

Thanks for the replies.

I sold the family on Sea World so if everyone can arrange the time off, I think we will do that on T-Day. We're not really concerned with a traditional meal so we'll probably just see which of our San Antonio favorites is open for a good meal.

Our big family holiday this year is Christmas Week so we'll save the traditional meal for that day.
