Why are there so many restaurants in Epcot to choose from :confused3

I need to choose a restaurant for our Epcot day. Has anyone been to San Angel Inn. I cant seem to find any reviews on this one. We had a family discussion and this is what they want to go with. Any opinions?

The new name for the Mexico restaurant at Epcot is La Hacienda de San Angel, if going there try to use it for a great view of Illuminations without waiting as well.
allears.net is pretty good for dining information, although Disney link to tripadvisor.com, both have reviews.

How funny Battymum because that's where we have chosen to go for dinner on our Epcot day too! I'm not so fussed about the food reviews because it's for the ambiance that we want. I've always wanted to eat in the restaurant (Blue Bayou I think) where DL's Pirates of the Caribbean cruise around but never have. San Angel Inn looks very similar so that's why we want to try it :)

Our second choice, if we go back into Epcot to eat dinner another night, is Biergarten - I'm not fussed either way on that one but that's definitely DH's choice.

We will also do the Princess Lunch at Epcot on our day there.

I think you're thinking of La Cantina. That one was recently refurbished and it's on the water facing Illuminations. San Angel Inn is the one inside the bldg with the whole mexican environment and the Three Caballeros ride.

I've eaten there before! We actually got there around 10 and wanted to eat but hadnt made a reservation so the next available one was for 8pm! We decided to go for it and I loved it! DS was less than happy because she didn't think they had that much variety for the amount of money each item cost. DM loved it at first but my sister always talks her into agreeing with her. I loved the whole experience of being there. I thought the food was pretty good but I do have to agree there isn't much to choose from. It is a nice restaurant though so i def. recommend!

It does look beautiful, I'm torn between the two Mexican restaurants, (and Biergarten, Coral Reef, Teppan Edo,) The family have chosen "the mexican one" but I dont know if my fussy kids will find anything on the menu they will like. They are classed as disney adults, but I am thinking we will pay OOP from the childrens menu on this one, so that they can have a simple nachos or tacos. This will free up 3 TS credits and if they share some other meals along the way, we will have enough for another meal somewhere.

They are adamant they dont want to do any character meals :sad2: They laughed so hard :rotfl2::rotfl2:when I even suggested it, teenagers!

We had dinner there in December. It was by far the best TS meal we had on the whole trip. I had the mahi mahi. Checked first before ordering to see if it was fresh. It was fantastic. DH had steak. He ate steak at a couple of other places and said San Angel Inn's steak won hands down. Dd had chicken. She enjoyed it even though she isn't big on Mexican food. I also had the bread pudding-very yummy.

We have been as well and had a great time.

The food was good and a wide range to choose from. The kids were also well served.

Great at lunch on those bright hot Florida days. You get to go inside in the air conditioning and best of all it is quite dark which is a great rest for the eyes.

The ambience is nice with Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride floating by and the theming is very impressive.
