I need some help on deciding where to do dinner for our Anniversary while we are at WDW. We already have CRT booked for lunch that day, but I thought it would be nice to have a nice dinner as well. I have rode the ride in Mexico in Epcot and thought the resteraunt looked so cozy and romantic. I need some input on people that have ate there. I also want to have an Anniversary cake delivered so I need to see if I can have one delivered there. I could have it delivered at lunch at CRT table instead. Anyway, any opinions would love to hear! Thanks :)

I love the San Angel Inn. If you like Mexican food that is NOT Tex Mex style you should like it too. Its not the usual type of Mexican food so many people are used to. I love their filet, their tortilla soup and the combination platter. I do love the atmosphere, and I think it would make a nice romantic spot for you and your dh. Maybe ask if you can get a waterside table when you check in, tell them its your anniversary. You might have to wait a bit longer but its worth it.

As for the cake, when you call to make your ADR, ask if this place does the special cakes or not. Many of the places in WDW do have the cakes available, some don't. I believe there is even a sticky thread on this board that lists that information.

If you are married to my DH then you should! He is on love with the food there. He likes all Mexican, and this was a notch above what you get at the local eatery at home.

I am always torn about the San Angel Inn. The food is respectable (not awesome Mexican but not bad by any means) but the atmosphere is lovely. I guess my question to you would be what you'd value most about a nice dinner. If it is the food quality/taste then San Angel might not be the best idea. (It is an understatement to say that Le Cellier is much better in terms of quality and expertise at what they do when in comparison to San Angel BUT it is in a wine celler so the atmosphere isn't the most romantic). California Grill and Jiko's are fantastic and romantic restaurants (though there are not in the parks-- they are at Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge respectively). If you are planning on CRT for lunch maybe you could do a very late dinner and see if you could get a last seating at California Grill or Jiko's. If it is just the 2 of you, you may be able to eek in a last minute, final seating at one of the 2. (My hubby & I have done so several times even in summer). The plus is that you may be able to see the MK fireworks from the CG (depending on time) or would get a quiet, highly rated meal at Jiko's.

So the short story is that San Angel in good/ok for food, great for atmosphere.

Both my dh and I discussed this one, and we agree. We have eaten here twice. Once on our honeymoon and just recently in May 06. The atmosphere is romantic. The music, the chips, lighting/mood, and margaritas are wonderful! However, the food itself is ok. The place is always crowded and a little loud. Is it one of our top places? No. Would I go back. Sure... did I mention the chips and margaritas. Yum.

San Angel Inn ranked dead last of all food we ate at WDW last fall. It was just bad. We did like the atmosphere, but having the Blue Bayou at our "home" park, Disneyland, it wasn't anything novel to us.

I highly reccommend California Grill. Beautiful, Lovely, and the best meal I've had in my life. I don't know if that's an option for you, but I just loved it and can't wait to go back. Watching the fireworks from there is extra special and very romantic.

Whatever place you choose - I hope it turns out great!
