San Angel Inn - EPCOT

Sorry to bust the bubble here. I have eaten there twice and have be twice disappointed with the food. I have eaten quite a bit in various places in Mexico and in our own Mexicantown in Detroit. I can vouch that the food at the San Angel is below average for Mexican food. They gave me a frozen peas, carrot, corn mixture with my meal for God sakes! The kind you get in a frozen dinner. Don't go there expecting a wowing food experience and you will be okay.

Sometimes we need to take the "Disney Blinders" off and call a dog what it is..... a dog. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you like Mexican food I think you will be less than satisified. I fully expect my TS dinners at Disney to be memorable in Service, Surroundings and in Food. San Angel Inn gets 2 of the 3 right IMO.

I also read that they use Tostitos chips w/their salsa. If so ...shame on them :confused3
LOL, that isn't true. :) I eat a lot of Tostitos chips and ate lunch at San Angel Inn today - not Tostitos. Don't know where they come from, though.

I really like San Angel Inn. Everyone has their own idea of what is "authentic" Mexican food. I've eaten in the homes of several people from Mexico and "authentic" depends on the cook.

An "authentic" taco is like an "authentic" meatloaf. Everyone has their own way of doing things and likes their way best. :)

Like I said, I really (a lot) like San Angel Inn. And the atmosphere is second to none.

I also like the fast food place outside...and you get to sit on the water - big plus, IMO.

Not trying to get flamed here, I live in texas (Magnolia to be exact), we ate there last Sept. and decided that the reason it was so dark was so that you couldn't see the food. Even my kids, who love all mexican food, say is was not good. We (dh and I on disneymoon) ate there in Sept. of 97 and said kind of the same thing. Maybe we are just spoiled to really great mexican food. If you eat it alot then you may rethink, but if you don't live in one of the above stated posted states then maybe you will like it. Good luck, and hey you will be at Disney and everything is fun and great while your there.

And I agree the atmosphere is terrific, that's why we have tried to twice.

We have tried it twice as well and felt letdown both times. The locale of the place is great, I've got to give it that, but is still doesn't make up for the lack in the food itself. The Nachos were good but it's really hard to mess up Nachos IMO. When the App is better than the entree, I have issues with the place.

I totally agree, I make nachos for DH and I in the evening and you cannot mess them up even if you do not have refried beans (i've tried black beans, ranch style bean, drained and cleaned, pinto, navy, any bean works, just add lots of cumin, chili powder, garlic, onion (or powder), lots of cayanne, salt and pepper) and your nachos will turn out great.

Yuck, not authentic by any stretch of the imagination - I live in California so have had my share of Mexican food.
