San Angel Inn 5/14 dinner

We had the tacos filet appetizer, very similar to the dEscription of the Tacos de Ribeye, OUTSTANDING! For our entree we both had the Carne Asada, came with a cheese enchilada, black beans, rice and guacamole. The guacamole ranks among the best I have ever had, and the entire plate was good. For dessert I had Natilla, and my hubby had the caramel ice cream. The Natilla was sooo good. We liked this meal so much that I anticipate an out of pocket lunch there before the trip ends

Sounds wonderful! We loved our meal here in summer 2010. The best items we tried were the Pollo a las Rajas and the Sirloin Rellenos. I hope they are still on the menu! Tell us about your lunch, too, please!

We enjoyed both (did dinner at both)! Why not do San Angel for lunch and La Hacienda for dinner (maybe not on the same day)? If you decide to choose only one, check out the menus first and see what appeals. The margaritas, and I believe the chips and salsas are the same. Both atmospheres are wonderful! We were lucky to have a nice view of IllumiNations from our table, which we didn't count on but was a great bonus, at LaHacienda. We didn't score a table near the river in SAI, but we still really like the atmoshere. I personally thought the entrees I mention above from SAI were better than anything we tried at LH, but my other 3 family members liked LH better hands-down...I'm probably not helping...

Sounds lush! We've got a dinner ADR in November as hubby particularly wanted to dine there for the atmosphere, can't wait to sample the food....

Thanks for the review! I haven't been since New Year's Eve 2009, when it was crowded and just kind of meh. (They were slammed with people -- you couldn't use that night for an accurate review.) But my parents really wanted to go back for our October trip, because San Angel Inn is where we always went when I grew up in Orlando. Your review is really reassuring.

We ate there just a few nights ago. Along with the atmosphere, which in my opinion is one of the best in the parks for dining, the food was outstanding. I had the same meal as the OP described and every bite was delicious down to the rice and guacamole. I will have to say that the salsa was not my favorite, as it tasted a little like they poured in a bottle of ketchup. But the chips were so wonderful, hot and home-made, that I didn't care. We also had the best waiter, Joseph, that we have ever had there... in fact, in all our trips there (probably 10+) we have only had two waiters that we have considered to be good. Really a plus!!

It is a must-do for us in recent years.

We love San Angel Inn, and ate there again in November. The food was good, but the waiter was the worst we have ever had. He argued with me about my TIW card even after I read the card and proved it was a TIW card. I had a nice little chat with the manager as I was leaving.
