Just a heads up...the salesman @ Lowes told me Sears is running the same promo -- but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
Well, the store just called me back and said, nope. Have to purchase them together.
Sorry to hear that. Lots of managers are declining the price of the dryer, however some have been successful in arguing my point where the website had it listed as an individual piece at $201.00. This DID NOT require you to buy the washer. I had it in my cart last night and checked out. No problem. Went to the store today and picked it up. They had another one in stock so I bought that one too for my parents. No problems whatsoever. These gung-ho managers that have a chip on their should have caused some good people to lose out on a good deal for whatever personal reasons they had. It's weird that hundreds of people were able to order these and others were denied.
I'd buy both for $999.00 and then return the washer. When you go to pick up both items, simply tell them that you no longer want the washer and they will then have their hand forced to credit the $798.00 price of the washer while the remaining $201.00 for the dryer stays on your receipt.
Now, anyone who needs a pedastal for this that DOES NOT want to pay $198.00 for it you will need to call around and look for part #256000. They should ring up at $28.01, but some may be even cheaper. If someone finds more than 1 LMK please.![]()
I've been trying to find the pedestals for that price with no luck. Was it at Lowes, or elsewhere?
Yes, it was at Lowes. Many people have purchased these items as clearance items as they are no longer available.
Lowes just called today and said that they are going to cancel our order. Can they do that after we have already paid?
I just talked to a manager at Lowes and she said that per corporate that all orders for the dryer at 201.00 were to be cancelled or we could order the washer to get it for that price. I think I will fight this-maybe through small claims court? Or would that just be a waste of my time?
If they cancel your order and refund your money you really don't have a case against them. It would be different if they cancelled your order and they kept your money.
But they never should have taken the money upfront for something that they knew to be an error...yet they promised quite a few people they would be able to order the dryer for that price and accepted payment for it. I think this is definitely going to come back and bite them in the pa-toot-y. Wonder if the poor sucker that programed them to ring up that way still has a job?
