Has anyone bought furniture at a Sam's Club? DH and I were there today looking for a roasting pan and strolled through the furniture aisle. There was a very sharp looking couch, two chairs, and a huge ottoman for about $1700. The information said it was 100% leather. It was very comfortable and the perfect style for our family room.

But I have to wonder how good it is for being at a Sam's Club and at that price. Have you ever bought furniture from Sam's or know anyone that has? What did you think? Were you satisfied, did it last?

Thanks for any information!
Karen

....never found the roasting pan!

We bought a desk chair there about five years ago. It's falling apart, and the similar one I've had for going on 15 years from Office Max is still in great condition--just to give you an idea. YMMV.

Thanks for the info! This is only one reason why I love this site, you can really get quick and helpful information on just about anything!

We bought a bedroom set real cheap, found the exact same maker, brand for three times as much - and its only been 3 years, but its perfect, solid furniture!!

So find the maker and google it maybe? Maybe another store has the same maker and you can compare? A lot of times you cant compare - manufactures make models just for certain stores - but you never know...

I really think it depends.. 12 years ago I purchased a couch and chair (matching set) from a furniture warehouse type place.. Total cost with tax was around $600.. It's still in perfect condition - and now sitting in my DD's upstairs living room..:thumbsup2

We bought our computer armoire there about 5 years ago and still really like it.

We have bought quite a few pieces from Sams. All very pleased with the construction and quality, and I am a Ethan Allen fan if that gives you any idea about my pickiness. ;)

Actually I am typing this from a new leather rocker recliner I got for Christmas. I love it, so comfy, looks just like the one I almost bought from a furniture store, only it was $1000 cheaper. :thumbsup2

We love our kitchen table! My dad bought the set and so did we. It was like $300 and came with 6 chairs and it has a leaf. We usually just have the 4 chair set up since there are just 2 of us. It is very sturdy and we love it.

Bought a leather computer chair from them about 3 yrs ago. It is still in good shape and has taken a beating between husband, myself, and grandson 15.

In the past couple of years I've bought six mattresses, box springs and frames. I am very happy with the quality and so are my guests.

I bought the first ones at Sam's in New Orleans just after Katrina - totally because of availability. It was not easy to find a store that was not flooded and had staff available to deliver. It was so chaotic here at that time.

I took the seats out of the Odyssey, went in and picked them up, put them on a pallet, loaded the car and brought them home to my 6th floor apartment - by myself (and I am very old).

They have held up better than the extremely expensive mattresses that I used to have.

We've had good luck with Sam's furniture. Not so much with Sofa Mart (I think that's the name, store with Denver Mattress Co.). Spent more money there, had to wait 7 weeks to get the sofa, love seat and chair. Had the set for two years and it's a mess. Falling apart, wood coming through. I'd never go there again.

I am also curious about anyone's experience with the Tanner sofa set. It comes in red, capuccino and peat. Any comments on the quality from anyone's experience?
Thanks, Chile Pepper

We bought a pub table with four chairs from Sam's. That is the most solid piece of furniture. It is really heavy and it has those big claw feet. we've stubbed plenty of toes on those and it really hurts. Those are some solid stools!
