Commander's Terrace -

Is that Dessert Parties or weddings? Is this new?

If DP's, what is the minimum for Commander's Terrace? Thanks!

I am also having a dessert party at Sago Cay and then going back to the Whitehall for dancing. I am having 22 guests.

Dessert Party

Chair Covers - $68

Food @ $34pp - $800

Crystal lamps (4) - $60

Question - for Sago Cay, the $500 minimum that must be met you met and went over? I am pricing a DP at Epcot, and with the 2008 price sheet I got, it would be about $800. We'll only have 10-12 people total, and $500 works better for us than $800. Were you able to choose your own menu? Just curious as to your total cost for Sago Pointe, and food breakdown (items).

Our food is $34pp and I believe you pay full price for children too. We completely customized our menu, I just picked things that everyone liked and asked my planner. She then asked the GF chef's and came up with this price.

We are having:
-Key lime tarts
-Mini Tiramisu martini's
-Chocolate fudge brownies
-Cheese board with brie etc
-Coffee's with whipped cream, chocolate shavings etc

I also asked for rice crispie mickey head things and they are $62 per dozen, but I don't know if I am including those yet. Don't forget that there is a 21% service charge and 6.5% tax on all food.

For 10-12 people, even with a $34pp menu, you would only be looking at $400-$500 anyway :thumbsup2

Commander's Terrace is the place they usually use to do the cake cutting portion of an escape wedding using the wedding pavilion for the ceremony. I don't think you can use if for a DP though. :confused3

Right. I'm just trying to figure out all the actual costs. You have your DP as $800 for food. 22 guests @ $34 each = $748.00. Add at 21% tip of $157 and $48.60 tax gives a total of $953.60. If the 22 guests don't include the wedding couple, the total is higher. Unless I am missing something somewhere, which is entirely possible, LOL.

Did your planner tell you if the $500 minimum includes the tip and tax? What about the $75 + tax chair set-up fee? With us having a smaller party, including guests w/diabetes and on low-carb diets, I do want to customize the menu too so I don't think we'll have a problem getting to $500.

As Toni said, Commander's Terrace is only used for Escape Wedding receptions. It does not face the Magic Kingdom and its fireworks, so if you had a DP there you'd pretty much just be looking at the Polynesian. :)

None of DFTW's minimums include service charge and tax - those are always paid on top of whatever the minimum is. There is a set-up fee for any location that doesn't have existing tables and chairs (or where the existing ones are not enough for your party size).

Banquet Event Order. It's basically a breakdown of every single detail pertaining to your wedding day.

oh I am glad someone answered this..I always see BEO and never knew what it was!!!

I am so glad you posted this. I was thinking about adding on the Mickey head rice crispy treats and was wondering how much they would cost. Good to know, thanks!

We have family coming down from Chicago and we can't imagine not having the motorcoach but it is pushing our budget higher then we want...did anyone have any other alternatives?

Also, of we were to be right on target with our $10K minimum, with tax and service charge do you think it would hit $12k or less? We hoping with tax and everything we would be has $11,000 something...is that realistic?

Thanks,

Our taxes and service charges for the wedding day are about $1200, I just calculated them from the BEO. But keep in mind that we are over the $10k minimum by $2500, so if you stick to the $10k yours may be less.

How big is your group? You can save a little bit by doing a minibus, but if you'd need two, then a motorcoach is cheaper. I don't have the details on e at the moment, but if you check out the transportation section of your PassPorter book, there's a chart of all the transportation options, their capacities and the prices.

This really depends on how you're spending your money. If a lot of it is for food and beverages, which get taxed and slapped with a service charge, the amount will be higher. If you're having a cheaper meal and spending the bulk of your budget on photography and transportation, for example, the number will be lower b/c those don't get taxed or have a service charge. :thumbsup2
