Well, they were able to use it at 7:59, just in time! I didn’t realize they changed the policy. So much for us getting the switch and using it another time during our trip...

Is this for all Rider swaps or just that particular ride?Unfortunately people were collecting and reselling them.

My understanding is that this policy started February 1 for FoP and 7DMT only. I know it was not in place in January, because we got many rider swaps, including several for FoP and 7DMT, on our trip January 1-7, and they were all dated January 31.
As TJ wrote, the change is to try to prevent people collecting them early in the month and selling them on EBay. Too bad, since it can be an inconvenience for families who would like to use it a few days later. #thisiswhywecanthavenicethings
Why would that be abuse? If she went to the parks several days or even just one, but one person waited in line each time, that’s a legitimate use of rider switch.Part of the reason is the abuse you mentioned above - getting multiple rider swaps for one attraction.

I liked the flexibility of using them during another day during our trip, depending on the time we had the FP for. Even with fp’s the time to get through and out can be upwards of 30 mins. Sometimes the 3 year old gets a little cranky if she sits out longer than that. We liked to leave the area and let her have some fun then return another day. Oh, well. Seems like some bad apples ruined the bunch! It seems reasonable to have them expire at the end of the day
Of course they were. Idiots.Unfortunately people were collecting and reselling them.

It works with a change in punctuation, too.
