With Android just keep hitting the same time over and over. With iPhone you have to switch between times but just keep hitting times.I hope I don’t sound dumb, but how do you refresh the app?

Completely disagree. Don't know I've ever seen a park "out of" FP+, even during the holidays. Sometimes...usually late at night...that will show up, but one simple refresh and FP+ show up. The biggest of headliners, like SDD or FOP, may be hard to get. But all the other attractions are possible or likely to get same day.
If you get familiar with refreshing, it doesn't take all day staring at your phone. It's a very easy and simple thing to do, you don't need to just stare at the screen.

These screenshots were unfortunately pretty typical for our trip a few weeks ago. After having great success snagging same-day FPs in the past, I was really disappointed on this trip. As you can see, many attraction were indeed “out of FPs,” and stayed that way as I tried in vain again and again. I was super bummed.
I was there Friday and Saturday this weekend and had no trouble getting FPs all day each day. Had the next FP before getting onto the previous ride, so didn't take anything away from our park experience. How many were in your group? That can make a difference sometimes. Here now. A few nights ago, MK was out of fastpasses by 6 p.m. Going to AK tomorrow and fastpasses are pretty much unavailable except for high capacity places like ITTBAB. As more people become adept at using the system, it is more difficult to snag last minute fastpasses. Also, I'm not a fan of staring at my phone all day -- it takes away from enjoying the parks. YMMV.
When you took that screenshot did you have FP's selected and were trying to modify or were you looking to book 3 at that time without anything else booked? If I had to guess you had FP's for Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, and a Tier 1 and were modifying one of the tier 2 FP's (wild guess).
Disney does drop fastpasses for headliners like FoP everyday at specific times. You have to be very fast when they do it though. I never have trouble getting FoP day of with this strategy.
NRJ is available as fastpasses everyday that I check if you keep refreshing. I'm always a party of 1 though.
I have never been successful to get SDD with the strategy I mentioned above, but I know of others that have.
Just keep refreshing, and you might get lucky!
Perhaps I chose bad screenshots, as you're probably right about those specifics, but the reason that I took these screen shots was actually that all afternoon the previous day in MK while trying to book FPs after using our original three, the situation was much the same. Seriously, when we would go to choose our next FP there would usually only be 2-3 attractions total that had anything available. It was that ridiculous. So then the next day when I started seeing similar screens in MDE at Epcot I took a picture to remind me later just how awful MDE was for us on this trip. So, I take your point that at this particular moment there were maybe other factors influencing the availability, but the fact remains that this was what MDE was like for us all day, every day of our trip, even after our original three FPs were used. It was really a drag. :-(
For sure. I'm certain you're correct, after looking at the time of day (i.e. I wouldn't have yet used probably ANY FPs at that time).Yeah, not trying to diminish your findings at all...just wanted to point out that in this scenario it would have shown all tier 1's as unavailable as well as the other tier 2 that you already had even if they had availability.

In the evening on 7/2 I decided to get FP for 7/3 at AK and 7/4 at MK. I wanted the biggest challenge & MK on 7/4 is preetu much that!
I booked Safari, EE, and FOP for 7/3.
I booked Space, Big Thunder & 7DMT.
This was not even 'day of' mass shuffling availability.
After 5-7 trips to WDW in the last year, I no longer fret the FP issue. Several of my trips were booked within 30 days. There was never a FP I wanted that I did not get.
How is the best way to refresh (step by step) on the app? We have our 3 per day booked and are good with what we have and times. But would like to use Refresh strategy for our 4+ FP's.
To get a 4th FP, as soon as you tap in the first time to use your 3rd FP, start looking for another FP as if you had none to begin with, you only need the refresh strategy if you want to change a time for one you already have.
This. Also, if you see a time pop up for the ride you want, take it, even if it's not the time you want. It will then make it easier to refresh and look for a better time as that ride will now be at the top of the list. You can use refresh for more than that. If you look for a fourth FP+ and MDE says that the attraction you want has no more, keep refreshing anyway. More often than not, a FP+ will appear if you're persistent.
