Same-day AK tour booking?

All of the special tours like Wild Africa Trek and Caring for Giants have been booked up for the days I'll be in AK. Has anyone had luck booking same day or last minute? Do spots tend to open up at the 48 hour mark when people are at the deadline to cancel with refund?

Bumping this to see if anyone has any insight if they do same day in person bookings, that don't show up online? Wanting to get the elephant or rhino tour for my trip in a week but no luck so far when I keep checking online.

I don’t know about same day etc…but I missed out on Wild Africa Trek at the 60 mark and posted about. Someone referred me to *****watcher site…you can set up alerts for tours in addition to dining. It worked and I was able to get the tour on the day I wanted.
