Samantha & Dave's PJ... 2/8/10 WP/ADH, PS TR Started Pg 78!

Fun update!!! Another good review of Ohanas!!! I'm so excited to try this place, I don't think I've read any bad reviews on it!!

What a Great Update....Now I am trying to think of how to add a night at the Poly after our cruise....hmmmm!

This is so fun to read- you two are so cute!! We LOVE the poly. We stayed there on our first trip, and when the pageant went by we didn't know what it was- it was so funny! And I know about getting misty, I swear I'm in tears at every parade at disney with the music going, it's all just so emotional, and I can't even imagine if I was engaged there! I just think about my kids and then the tears come! Heck, I cry half the time with disney music in the car, LOL! And I don't know what will happen next trip, between being DVC members now and doing the vow renewal... Good thing for waterproof mascara is all I can say!!

Looking forward to reading more:)

Thanks Celesta, good to know I am not the only crier here lol!
My next entry is basically just one big waterworks show...

It was really kinda funny watch the EWP because DF wasn't sure what he was watching... all of sudden it was over and he was a little confused:lmao:

OMG you will love Ohana! And the bread is awesome but don't fill up on it like I did...

Hmmm, I bet you can do it. Apparently all you need to do to fall in love with the Poly is have a drink there (they must put something in them to make you love that place) ohhhh I bet it's pixiedust of some kind :lmao:

Dole Whipps!! I am so jealous! Everytime we go that is a definite tradition, by far the best tasty treat around! Love the updates! You're making me wish I was there right now instead of cloudy NJ!

Love your update Sam!! Mmmmm Dole Whips!

I am so addicted it is not even funny lol! Gotta love a good dole float:goodvibes

Day 3 Part 1… The start of the 2nd best day ever at WDW (the 1st being when got engaged, but only by a little bit lol!)
PS- This is picture free, but worth it...

So after a full day of E-Pics, Epcot, Red Sox and the Poly (yes that was one 1 day…) we woke up to our painful church bells… and painful feet! Man oh man after a full day were my feet sore, I was walking like a 95 year old with a bad knee that morning! All I wanted to do today was be at the MK for rope drop. In all my visits to WDW one thing I have never managed to catch was Rope Drop at the MK, so I was sure that this would be the trip to do it! So as we lay in bed listening to our painfully loud church bells ringing in our ears we looked at each other and knew… nope, we were not moving yet. The immediate aching in our legs was too great, so I gave up on Rope Drop Dreams and rested for another ½ hour. Well we finally woke ourselves up (Stitch and Mickey may have helped a bit) and we start getting ready to head out. We pack a backpack with our emergency sweatshirts, camera, ponchos and our refillable mugs to head to the food court and we are in business. :thumbsup2

Dave and I (slowly) make it to the POP food court and on the way there I decide I am a bit cold so I throw on my zip up hoodie (this is important later on I promise) and continue the walk. It is a sunny morning, but still a bit cool so I am hoping it warms up a bit over the course of the day. We fill up our mugs, make our way to the buses and hop right on (again I love the POP bus service). We are a bit tired and happy to get seats on the bus at only 8:45am! I think to myself, wow we may actually see part of rope drop after all! We arrive at the MK at 9:05am (yup, we missed it) and head in to the park.

I love mornings at the MK:lovestruc; it is all peaceful despite being surrounded with people. We of course saw all the kids in line to meet their favorite characters, and smelled all sorts of yummy treats as we walked in… ahh to be in the Magic Kingdom. Dave and I start to walk down Main Street when a Cast Member notices our “Just Engaged” Buttons. He yells out “Congratulations to you both!” And Dave says “Thanks You” and starts to keep walking along when the CM says “Hey wait, come talk to me for a second.” So of course being the chatty Cathy that I am, I head over with Dave to talk to a very friendly CM. His nametag says his name is “Dean” and he appears to be a very smiley, happy guy greeting guests on Main Street in the morning… but oh boy Dean is so much more then that!:rolleyes1

We begin talking about where we are from, why we are in WDW, and finally how our trip has been going. At this point I am not thinking anything strange, just enjoying talking Dean in my favorite place in the world. Dean then says to us “Let’s step over here for a minute” and we move out of the flow of traffic (it was 9:15am in the Magic Kingdom after all, and our spot of the sidewalk was a bit in the way of guests running to their favorite rides lol) so move next to a doorway of a shop on Main Street. Dean says “I know you are having a great trip so far, but at Disney we like to try and make peoples trips extra special when we can.” “So I need a favor from you both, I would like to invite you to be our guests as the grand marshals of today’s parade!” :eek:I was speechless (and let me tell you that is a feat in itself, I am not speechless very often!) I immediately looked at Dean ready to say “Are you serious!” but the words were not coming out! Dave just said “Whoa” and was waiting for me to say something, anything (again the whole being speechless thing freaks Dave out because he knows it never happens, I am always talking!):lmao:

I am pretty sure 10 minutes passed without me responding to Dean (although Dave claims it was only about 10 seconds, oh well). I finally managed to pull myself together and try to speak… all that comes out are tears. :goodvibes Here I am in the MK, a wonderful CM named Dean is asking me to do something I have always imagined doing, and I cannot pull myself together enough to say Yes! Dean looks at me and says “I hope those are happy tears, is that a yes?” I nod my head furiously between tears and hug Dean, not Dave my lovely fiancé, but Dean lol! It was like getting engaged all over again with the inability to say the word "Yes", sometimes you just cannot speak, and this my friends was one of those times! Dave was just standing there chuckling at the whole development; he later said how happy he was to see me that happy which I thought was a very sweet thing for him to say… I knew there was a reason I was marrying him lol! :rotfl2:

Dean said that I better stop crying because I would make him start too! So I pull it together (as much as I could pull it together after hearing amazing news, thank goodness I had my sunglasses on that morning, but boy oh boy I could’ve used some extra waterproof mascara)! Dean asks us how to spell our names because “His friends at The Chapeau have some free time right now and will make you Ears with your names on the back” How fun! He also asks for last name, and our hometown so they can annouce us duirng the parade. Dave goes first and spells his last name “English”. Dean says “Ok now its The Future Mrs. English’s turn” and looks at me with a smile. I smile back and unzip my hoodie (see I told you that would be important), you see that morning I decided it would be fun to wear my homemade “The future Mrs. English” tank with pink Mickey ears and a tiara on it. Dean reads my shirt and bursts out laughing, what are the odds that he would call me that on the same day I wore that shirt! And there was absolutely no way he could have known that since my hoodie was zipped all the way up! Dean’s laugh was infectious as Dave and I both started laughing as well, pretty soon we were all in tears from laughing! :lmao::lmao::lmao: The Disney Magic went both ways that morning! So after we get our instructions to meet him in front of the Main Street Firehouse at 2:45pm that day and talking for a few more minutes about what to expect at the parade we part ways, but not before a HUGE hug from me to Dean! I am not sure if that is the response he usually gets but it sure was from me, it was without a doubt the happiest moment of the trip!

This part of my TR is very short on pics but I promise I will make it up to you all in the next entry!:woohoo:

Up Next Day 3 Part 2… Streamers Huh?

Hey Sam - so glad to read all about your special day at the MK. First of all, it was so great meeting you guys in DTD Sunday night during our vacation. It is so great to talk to other Disney couples to hear about their plans.

Second, it is so great that you guys were in the parade in the MK. I wish we had been there that day to see it. Looking forward to reading more and seeing more pictures.

Linda

Oh my gosh Sam... i nearly just cried!

Wow that is just too amazing .. its like a dream!!?? I would never even dream about being a grand marshal... because i know it could never ever happen! its literally like winning the lottery- there are thousands of people in the park and they pick 2 or 4 of you!

I cant even imagine what you are going to write about it next... do i need some tissues ready? So far, what a trip you have had eh?! Its unbelievable .. !!

Ok I haven't read beyond the sentence where you said the CMs name is "Dean" but I know EXACTLY how your post is going to end! He is a part of Guest Relations... ok... I will now go finish your post and proove myself correct lol

yey! I was right!

Oh, and if you ever see Dean again, you should talk to him about cruises. The man is a cruising machine. I think that is all the two of us ever talk about!

Ah, I miss those mornings of standing out at the tipboard and watching Dean, or whomever is doing his job that day, walk by. Sometimes he would stop and ask if I had seen any good guests he could pick for the day.

Can't wait to hear how your experience was! I got to ride the big bus in the Halloween Parade one year, it was sooo fun!

Sam that is the most exciting thing ever!!! I am so, so happy you got to experience something so wonderful!!! I can't wait to see the pics :goodvibes.

WOW Samantha...I don't even have words for how amazing that is!!! What a wonderful memory that will stay with you forever. Isn't it amazing how things work out? Who the heck needs rope drop when you can be the Grand Marshall:goodvibes

Oh goodness it was awesome, and how cool that you know Dean, and his job is awesome! I want to pick people to do fun things at WDW, we actually talked to him quiet a bit that day and he gave me his card and asked me to write him the story in my own words because it was just such a funny coincidence (and I was a smiling crying mess). I have been working on it to send to him, so next time you see him tell him "The future Mrs. English says hello" he even made me my own certificate saying "The Future Mrs English" along with the one that said David and Samantha. Would it be weird to send him the letter along with the pic we took with him? I made a copy of it and plan to send it in a nice card, but do people do that or would I look like a Dean stalker lol!

OMG Sam that is so awesome!! Can't wait to hear the rest!

Thanks, it really was an amazing day:cloud9:

Sam that is the most exciting thing ever!!! I am so, so happy you got to experience something so wonderful!!! I can't wait to see the pics :goodvibes.

Ohhh I have lots, the photopass people followed us while we were in the parade so I have tons on the way (I ordered my CD today)

after that I don't think I will ever try to make it to rope drop again lol! It was so special especially sharing it with DF, as corny as that sounds, I think it made it even more special:love:

SAM, I am so excited for you and so insanely jealous!!!!! That's so awesome!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!:yay::yay::yay:

I am so jealous but at the same time so happy for you that you got to be a grand marshall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
