Samantha & Dave's PJ... 2/8/10 WP/ADH, PS TR Started Pg 78!

Okay Sam so I lied earlier, after seeing you in this dress again it for sure is the one!!! Well if the original doesn't work out that is...How exciting! I love the headband too! And I totally didn't want a veil at all but I've been looking up pictures of the small ones you put underneath your hair (since I want fresh floral in mine) and I like them more and more! Do you think it would look too formal though for my outdoor SBP wedding!? Can't wait to hear more!

Hi Sam,

I have pretty much just read through your whole PJ in one go (talk about speed reading!) Just wanted to say want an awesome read it was.
The whole Grand Marshall thing looked amazing! Am so jealous!
... and I think you've made a great choice with the dress it looks gorgeous!

Ohh yay! Welcome! And I apoologize for some of my off-beat ramblings lol! Glad you made it through:laughing:. The Grand Marshal Day was awesome, I still smile like a fool when I pass by the picture I framed of it in my living room lol! And thanks about the dress, I am very relieved now that I found it:goodvibes

I love the dress, it is beautiful!!!

If the alterations don't work out on the original dress, maybe you can cut part of it and tie it around your bouquet, or make a veil, or something, just to have a piece of it with you.

I'm sorry to hear about your MOH issues, I'm having some myself. And my MOH is in Jersey while I'm stuck in AZ. The bad part is I only have one attendant, so it sucks. I haven't talked to her since March, wonderful I know.
So I totally know the pains and you don't want it to ruin things, I hope that she was just having a bad day.

So enough debbie downer talk. . .your plans sound wonderful so far! Where did you get those vera bradley pj pants, they are too cute, I did not see them on the website.

Look forward to reading more

Yay I have to think of some options for that dreess if it doesn't work out... although Jenny and Stacey voted that I should have 2 dresses lol!

Sorry to hear about your MOH troubles, but the great thing about the DIS is that we are like each others MOH's, its such a huge blessing to have a place to organize my thoughts and get feedback from my online friends:goodvibes. So if you need anything you just ask:flower3:

(I love the Debbie Downer skit on Saturday Night Live btw, have you seen it??) The PJ pants are from the clearence section of the VB website, not sure if they still have them, but they probably will have more once the new stuff goes on clearance, if I find them I will let you know. I have a pair my mom got me and they are sooooooo comfy!:goodvibes

Ya I thought it was kinda weird :confused3 I have Diane Bowen she is the BEST!!!!!And her asstiant Alix I love her!!! She's GREAT! I couldn't be happier they're both great! They wouldn't let him pick it up??? They came to work and my DF signed for them I was home already so That's sooo weird though

Ohhh I have heard awesome things about her!! Yea our post office doesn;t like us I guess lol!

Hmm, I was definitely leaning towards 8 before, but these new pictures are making me reconsider. Maybe your bridesmaid is just a much better photographer than your mom. :rotfl:

But I'm glad to read you finally settled on a new dress! Even if you MOH was being a little rude during the process, hopefully she gets over that soon.

Aww thanks! I think anyone is better then my mom (agian I love her dearly, but photography is her weak spot lol). She developed the "Mom Zoom" as my brother and I call it... rather then using the zoom button on the camera she moves her arms in or out:rotfl2:. It is really funny

First, I heart your headband

Second, boo to your MOH. Girls are poopy sometimes, especially when it comes to weddings, but she needs to suck it up and deal if she wants to be your MOH.

Third, YEY FOR PICKING A DRESS!!! :cheer2:

Thanks gotta love Etsy.com!

She did a get a big boo that night from me lol, hopefully she will get over it:confused3

And I am sooooo happy I got a dress option, I meet with the seamstress tomorrow so I should have some options from that as well.

Oh and we need to pick a day for dinner in August for sure! Maybe meet at EOS since we are all huge fans, I could totally go for the BLT now... I am so jealous you could eat there for lunch today if you wanted btw:eek: Or somewhere else, I'm not picky:goodvibes

Ohh, I did not even notice the headband before, that is adorable! Where did you get it? ;)

Etsy.com! I love all the handmade flower stuff on there:goodvibes

it really goes with the dress! so girly!

I am going to do a flower in my hair on the wedding day for sure, I actually ordered this one to see if i liked it, then I will order a new one for the wedding, it's a clip on the headband so I can take it out and wear it on its own too.

YAY! You picked your new back-up dress! You look so stunning in it, it's super romantic! So sorry to hear about your MOH drama. I think if you just give MOH a few days she will probably calm down and get her head back on straight... but if she continues down this path you're going to have to have an intervention- send her to MOH boot camp:lmao:- your other MOH can be drill sgt:rotfl2: I'm still excited to hear what the seamstress says on Saturday... do you feel torn b/t the 2 dresses now or do you have a favorite?

Goodness I feel torn! I guess I will have a few more options once tomorrow comes but I will let you guys all know when I figure it out:confused3. And I like the Jenny and Stacey idea of 2 dresses, but lord knows I'll have enough trouble lugging one to FL, let alone 2! Oh well, we will have to see... but thanks for the compliment Adelia, I hope you have good luck with your dream dress too, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you:goodvibes

And I like MOH boot camp lol:rotfl2: I will have to put together the ciriculum lol, my other MOH is a nurse too and she doesn't mess around, she sais "I deal with babies in the nursery everyday, I do not need to deal with one out of work too" :rotfl:

I think your decision was the best. Hope the MOHzilla straighten outs.

haha who knew I would not be the "zilla" in my own wedding! lol! I am wayyy to mellow to be a bridezilla, so I thought that meant drama-free, guess I was wrong:rotfl2:

Sam!! I've missed so much! I am so excited that you got your dress  (I think that deserves a banana dance). As I was catching on your PJ and came across the dresses #3 was my favorite right away, your face just lights up in it! I am so excited that everything worked out and you're happy, because that's all that matters. :goodvibes Your dress is so Greecian and I absolutely loved the head band!

Thanks Jenna! Glad you like it, it's my fave too! I sent the pic to my other BM and MOH and they both picked it out right away as their fave too so I was pysched! It def has a Grecian feel to it, I think that is one of reasons I like it so much:goodvibes The band is from Etsy.com and I am going to use on of this ladies flowers for the wedding too:goodvibes

haha thanks, I felt the same way about the whole veil thing too. I really was against it, but I liked Heidi's pics of her hair and she had an under veil with flowers! I wanted fresh flowers too, but if I can find a pretty silk alternative I may do that since I am concerned with the flowers wilting at the wedding. But I guess it depends on the weather and what type of flower too:goodvibes

I always thought I was against veils until i saw under veils too!!! Eeee - now I have to have one!!!! I loved Lindsays long one too! But I think I'll have one that's kinda elbow-y.

Ooooh, hair flowers too - very tempting!

I think I'll definitely go for silk so I can keep them. :)

Ohhh I have heard awesome things about her!! Yea our post office doesn;t like us I guess lol!

Ya shes great! Who do you have? Ya I don't think they do mine doesn't either thats why I have everything shipped to my office since I'm here all day. I love your dress!! :thumbsup2

I like Etsy.com, they have some gorgeous silk flowers for hair. You should check it out, it's like Ebay but all handmade things!

Ahh, Etsy, you can find everythign on Etsy. :) I love that site so much! Will hafta start searching around for some cute headbands then. :)

Sam just catching up...Your dress is just GORGEOUS!!! I am so excited you got something that you love and looks fab on you!!!:cool1:

Just catching up as well Sam  the dress is lovely (you have very good taste!), I love how happy you look in the photos :goodvibes

Hey Sam!! First of all...well done SOX (my fiance would kill me if he knew I said that...die hard Yankee fan :rotfl:)! I say this because as much as I absolutely love sports and baseball games...when the yankees start to lose he gets too frustrated to watch and I get to watch my Monday night TV shows! :lmao:

Silly side note - and I should totally know this by the way (I know I'm a shameful Dis fan) - where can we find the dole whip in WDW?? I told Tony about it and he's been asking almost every day!! :lmao:

Dole whips are from Aloha isle in Adventureland and also the Poly. I haven't even been yet but am so excited for DWs that I have it planned!!! That will be my first in park snack!!!!

(Sorry Sam for not letting you answer - I got too excited! :hyper:)

Hey Sam! I am so sorry about how your MOH was acting while trying on dresses. As you know, I was put through the same, unfair misery, If I could change anything I would have done something about it from the beginning. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but in my experience the same people acted the same way all the way until the end (of the reception :sad2:) and for the most part just acted worse and worse as time went on. I am crossing all my fingers (and toes...ewww I hate toes ) that this does not happen to you. But my advice is to let your other MOH know that she should intercept when necessary so that you do not have to go through any additional stress on YOUR day!!!

By the way, your dress looks even more fantastic than it did the first time you tried it on :goodvibes

hey sam. i think the dress you love looks beautiful on you! very flowey and romantic-i love it! you should go with what you want. as for you MOH, if it continues you def have to call her out on it. my sister is mine and she is a royal pain in the ***..things always have to be her way. i mean she had the audacity to call me and ***** about where i want to have my shower(i want it in brooklyn where i live now not the suburbs of ny where i grew up) because it is easier for me and tom to get everything home. instead of calling my BMS who are just as involved as she is she called me. i finally got fed up and put her in her place. it is your day and she should be honored you asked her to be you MOH. hopefully it was just an off day and she will be back to normal! good luck-sending some good vibes your way:goodvibes

hey hun, have you seen a tailor about the dress yet? i looked at dress alteration prices in the dress shop yesterday and to get a dress taken out it cost between £30- £70 depending on the detail on it-if its heavily beaded then it was like £120 or something? so hopefully you get a good quote?

yeah i thought so, it was really cheap to get a dress length to get taken up- like £25 + i was shocked at how much it costs to get dresses professionally dry cleaned though - £170!- BUT its more depending on how much your dress is worth!!???

I guess if its worht more then they need to be more delicate and take their time with it? Might be more delicate fabrics also.

1st of all sorry I was MIA this weekend, I had a super busy weekend. I worked on Saturday, went the tailor, had "date night" with Dave. Then Sunday was mothers day and we went to see Daves mum (mine is on vacation in South Carolina visiting my little brother, but I am taking her to tea at a nearby Inn next Sunday:goodvibes). I did start a book with all my Disney Wedding Pictures (most "borrowed" from here lol) and ideas! So Yay for that!

Now I tried on the original dress at the tailor on Saturday. She said it is possible to let it out enough to fit and not add a corset back. So that is good.... But.... the cost to do it about $415 (including hem,, bustle, side seams and reconstruction). Because of all the beading and alterations that need to be done (I guess casablance bridal gowns don't have many seams so they need to get a bit creative). I went to see my grandma (since mom was away lol) and she said I should just get the new dress and try to sell the old one... as much as I don't want to sell it, I think she may be right. She said "Aba" (my other grandmother who passed and bought the dress for me) would understand and would love the new dress just as much. I also don't think I will need to really have a lot of alterations done to the new dress. It comes in a petite length which when I tried it on was perfect! I wouldn't need to hem it at all, and the bustle is about $45, so unless I lose some serious weight (which I don't really plan to since I am pretty comfortable at my current weight, and when I lose weight I can look very frail because I am so short... plus I like having some curves!) I should be able to keep the new dress alteration cost pretty low. It was as nice talk and she seemed to really think the new dress was the way to go... so I think I will be going with my new romantic dress:yay: What do you guys think of this plan?

My grandmother is also going to help me make some memory charms for my bouquet that have pictures of my Aba and my grandad who passed away as well.

Ahh, Etsy, you can find everythign on Etsy. :) I love that site so much! Will hafta start searching around for some cute headbands then. :)

So obsessed with Etsy right now, it is the best! I got my wedding journal on it. It is made out of a recycled Little Golden Book of Dumbo! It is really sweet, I'll post a pic:goodvibes

How have i not heard of it?! Off now!!! Thanks sweeite

I apologize in advance, I probably just cost you lots of $$ by telling you about it lol:rotfl2: Seriously it is so addicting!

Sam just catching up...Your dress is just GORGEOUS!!! I am so excited you got something that you love and looks fab on you!!!:cool1:

Thanks Mandy! I am just glad it is done!:rotfl2:

Just catching up as well Sam  the dress is lovely (you have very good taste!), I love how happy you look in the photos :goodvibes

Aww thanks Gem! Thats so sweet!

I promise I won't tell your DF lol! Df gets the same way about the Sox if they are not doing well... although this weekend we had some crazy remote control issues in our house, the Sox were on, AND the playoffs for the Celts, and the Bruins are going on! Boston is in sports overload lately lol!:rotfl2:

Plan for at least 2 Dole Whips lol! They are a must!

Dole whips are from Aloha isle in Adventureland and also the Poly. I haven't even been yet but am so excited for DWs that I have it planned!!! That will be my first in park snack!!!!

(Sorry Sam for not letting you answer - I got too excited! :hyper:)

No need to apologize when Dole Whips are concerned Torse! And yay for trying Dole Whips for the 1st time... just don't get the vanilla ice cream... I don't consider that a "real" dole whip. Go for Pineapple!

Thanks for the advice Shannon, I think you are right on. I am going to have my other MOH run interference if need be:goodvibes. Your totally right, and I am sorry you went through it also:hug: (And toes are totally gross lol):rotfl2:

Thanks Steph, i am happy with the dress! Well I am sorry you are going through this too, but a part of me is relieved to hear it is not just my MOH who can be a PITA! Thats crazy, I hope you are having the shower in Brooklyn! But thanks for the good vibes

:lmao: i was censored!!!

I love that you got censored too lol! It makes you feel like a DisBoard rebel:lmao:

hey hun, have you seen a tailor about the dress yet? i looked at dress alteration prices in the dress shop yesterday and to get a dress taken out it cost between £30- £70 depending on the detail on it-if its heavily beaded then it was like £120 or something? so hopefully you get a good quote?

Yea it was closer to the $120 mark (which is about $175-$200 here)... with all the alterations it ended up being over $400!! So I think I may as well just get the new dress since I won't have to pay alot for it to be altered and don't need it to be hemmed which is great!
