Does anyone know when filling a salt and pepper shaker and the tops have different size holes which one does the salt and pepper go in?

I believe the bigger holes are for salt and the smaller holes are for pepper. I don't know for sure though.

Think of it this way - most recipes call for more salt than pepper. You put the salt in the shaker with larger holes (or a greater number of holes) to allow more seasoning to get out. You put the pepper in the shaker with smaller holes (or a smaller number of holes) to restrict the amount you get.
