Does anyone know if Disney has sales in the stores in the parks? I have heard from a friend that at a certain time of year lots of the stores in disney have merchandise marked down 50%. Does anybody know if this is true, or when they do there markdowns. Could we be so lucky to be there at this time of the year! LOL! Any thoughts or experience would be great!

TIA!

They do have various clearances in the parks and resort stores but I'm not aware of any set schedule for this. I've always gotten the impression that it was done based on the merchandise. For example, when the 100th birthday promo was over, they started discounting that stuff. Or discounting out of season or discontinued items. Do any CM's have other info to share?

I am not sure as to when(or if) they have annual sales, but I did notice when we were there in July that several of the stores had sale or clearance sections...

DTD - Lego store had selected Legos 50%

AK - one store had Pooh animal print beanie babies on sale for $3.99, reg $10.

TL - had a whole clearance section of t-shirts and beach wear.

On word of advice, we you see something you like, buy it!
We learned this the hard way. At DTD, Once Upon A Toy Store, the inventory turnover is very quick. We went on a Monday and purchased items and then went back following Sunday and a lot was sold out. I mean they had 3 huge sections "polly-pocket" type Disney Princesses and then on Sunday they had none. Also at Lego store, the items that were 50% off on day, were regular price the next day. I guess it's hit or miss.

Good luck and happy shopping!

From what few items we noticed and saw in August, the price tags are marked. But there was no SALE signage. It seems you just have to be looking at the mercahndise.
You might ask a CM in the store too. They might be able to direct you.
I bought a rhinestone pin at MGM half price ($9.99 from $20).
DH bought a polo shirt in DAK for $14.99

I have purchased a few, but just a few items marked down. As someone else stated there were no "sale" signs, I just happend to be looking at the item and flipped the price tag over and noticed it was marked down.

If you look in the shops in the parks, you may have to go into several to find a variety of sale merchandise. If you go to DTD, the same stuff will probably be in WOD, also on sale. If you are short on time, you will be able to find the most amount of sale stuff at WOD, only because they carry a lot of the same stuff that is in the stores in the parks. If you have a car, you could also give the outlets a shot.

We were in the world for 2 weeks, every time I entered a shop I would ask the cm if there were any sale items. The cm's seemed to enjoy helping me find good deals. I only bought one thing that was not marked down while I was there! The previous post are correct about not having signs. The easiest way is to ask a cm. I found some really cute Pooh Christmas ornaments in MGM. They were 85% off the original price!!! My best deal was my gold, Mickey Mouse pendant and chain set. It was originally priced at $135.00 and I got it for $ 54.00. I also found some of the same items that were on sale in one store that weren't marked down in another. By the end of our trip, my relatives were also going into they shops asking about sale items!

We very seldom buy at full price when we go to WDW. The first day we are there we hit all the Disney outlets and then when we go to the parks we search out the sale items!!!

I bought a Tiger Woods got shirt for DH in October. It was regularly $150 and I got it for $75.
