GP is Grumpy Pirate who tormented Kim on her Scrollie and Bacon thread. He even quoted the entire "Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts, monster brains and donkey butts" song, as well as the "eat some worms" song. He was a rather sick individual.

Today is Tori's 18th birthday and her first official day of college (moved in on Sunday, but today was the first day of classes). She has texted me several times to let me know how much she loves college! (that's Day 1 - check back in about a month!! )

And, her Science teacher once worked at Living With the Land so they have a shared passion!!

I'll be there around the same time -- short visit though, only 4 days. If you see a woman limping around the lobby with a black "walking shoe" on (pictured a page or 2 back!) - that will be me!!!

All, it is with a sad heart that I tell you my uncle passed away last night around 8PM. He was the one of the greatest men I ever meet, kind soul of a man, cared deeply for his family and he will be truly missed.

I know that he will make heaven a beautiful place.

My DH is deeply saddened by his passing, but is at peace knowing that we spent quality time with him in June.

Sorry to bring sad news to the thread.

All, it is with a sad heart that I tell you my uncle passed away last night around 8PM. He was the one of the greatest men I ever meet, kind soul of a man, cared deeply for his family and he will be truly missed.

I know that he will make heaven a beautiful place.

My DH is deeply saddened by his passing, but is at peace knowing that we spent quality time with him in June.

Sorry to bring sad news to the thread.

....laughter really IS the best medicine....see if you can find any funny pix of he and your DH, then try to recount the story behind the pix. I know that works for ME.....remembering all the good times.

....that's kinda how I felt when my M-in-L passed away in April....there was a numbness and sense of 'It's finally over.' but I felt such deep sadness for my DH because, to this day, there are many unanswered questions rgarding his relationship with his mom...

I'm so sorry to hear this news Brandi. Hugs to you and David. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May you both find strength in each other and in the fact that you did get to see your beloved uncle recently. Keep that picture in your mind - of the happy times - and he will live on in your hearts forever.
