Going to Jambo House August 27th for the first time this year. What is new and exciting? Laura and Kim still running the best pool bar?

...tanks. :teeth:

....well, gotta go pick up my niece - we are getting mani, pedi's....

Mani and pedi should make you feel better .... at least it always helps me. So sorry you have had such a bad year .... here's hoping the rest of the year is better for you.

Just got back late last night! Had an awesome time at AKL! We did get flamingos and those cute little animals down the pool slides in the am! Nice surprise! It was super hot and we did seem to have our days of rain! It rained so bad last night our flight was a bit delayed going home. My only complaint about most of the pools at Disney are the fact that you cannot find a clock anywhere. I know you are on vacation and should not worry about the time but when you have dinner reservations sometimes you just need to keep an eye on the time. We ate at the Mara for breakfast and a few times for lunch. Spent a lot of time at the pool towards the end of the week. Park hoppers and water park options used too! First time getting blisters on my feet and also came home with the Disney rash on my feet and lower legs. That is becomming a tradition for me. Glad to be home but we already miss our AKL home.

Sounds like you had a great time. Thanks for all the pics.
Yucky about the poop:sick:

Did they finally fix the elevators at Jambo house? It seemed like it was taking 4-eva!!!

AND - look at our tickers - whooo hooo - we are getting there!!!!

:woohoo:

I'll be "on the ground" on the 6th...and I'll have internet while there. I'll try to grab a schedule and post while I'm there.

If you can. The internet was so ssssllllooowww when we were there. I could log into Facebook no problem but the DISboards and Disney website would take 5 minutes to load:headache:

Countries all have their own little stalls. Each item has a price (though most, if not all, of the foot items also count as a DDP snack). Just get in line at the stall and buy what you want.

Thanks:goodvibes It may be for nothing now as I think we aren't going in October. I can't see spending $1500 for airfare for a few days. But on the otherhand I am working on DH to go this April or in June. Waiting until 2013 is too much torture:lmao:

My "walking shoe" is fixin' to go to the grocery store! :rotfl:
DSCN0888.jpg

and of course I had to get the injury pre-pedicure - which is on hold for the time being!! :rotfl:

I am such a mess!!! Besides the damage I did to my right foot, I have a huge bruise on my left knee (oh, that's why it hurt so much!); scrapes all over my left foot; and one of the toes on my left foot is black and blue (and hurts!!).

On the bright side, Tori LOVES her dorm, has a great roommate, has reconnected with some old friends, and is having a blast -- of course once classes start, her enthusiasm may wane a bit!!

:thumbsup2 Nice very stylish! Glad to hear that Tori is doing great. I don't want to even think about the day when my babies leave:sad2:

There is an infection starting in his throat from where the tube was inserted, so they are going to take him off the ventilation machine tonight, the Dr's think he will breathe on his own.

Other than that everything else is the same, still not conscious.

...it's official - I'm naming 2011 the "Year-That-When-You-Think-That-it-can't-Get-Any-Worse-it-DOES" year....:confused3

lemme put it THIS way: it hasn't been a good year for M-in-L's OR mothers,,,:confused3

:welcome: back We all missed you and were very worried.
Sorry to hear that your mother is not doing well either:hug:

sherabby - awesome pics! thank you - made my day!
dgbg100106- take care of you - my thoughts are with you and your family!

....:

We just had a short stay at Kidani and ventured over to Jambo several times. As you enter the hall way to get on the elevators the ones on the right are working and the ones on the left are all walled off. If you peek you see empty elevator shafts. It would be a quick trip DOWN!:scared1:

Any idea when these are going to be finished? Will have the stroller in Oct - it'd be nice to have all elevators up and going!

ok - on the "lite" side - have to share my new joy of trader joes :cloud9:
One just opened less than 5 min from me - and its so fun trying new things- especially some of the Indian, Asian and Italian cuisine items.... anyone have any favorites to share?

Yes. I thought exactly the same thing too! We decided it was time to take a swim break and have lunch...by then it was re-opened. We did see a lifeguard with a net and another mom told us what was going on...ewwwwwwww.

....'EWWWW', indeed.

OMG - the roto rooter guy is here............................ need I say more!!!! :scared1:

I hope you got your problem all solved.

We had a similar problem with one of our rental buildings. Yesterday we found out we need to replace 45 ft of sewer to the street! (Well not us, the plumbers will do it, we just need to pay them :scared1:)

Welcome back! Sorry you are having such a terrible year....That was my 2010  We miss you in the Land of the Last.

..one remotely snide remark from GP, and I'm OUTTA HERE....

We haven't seen hide nor hair of him for quite some time.

Foot still hurts - even with the "shoe". It's only Day 3 though - I'm optimistic! ;)

Yay - it paid to be up before dawn! Hope you can fall to sleep! ;)

Edited: Your "light" is still on -- go back to sleep!! :)

Sorry your food hurts, but hopefully it will get better.

I did fall back asleep finally, but I was awake for about an hour with the adrenaline rush from getting all four of my events!

Sorry to hear:(...if its any consolation...I didnt go from 7/03 to 2/07!

And I didn't go from May '01 until Jan '07 due to parental health issues (in-laws).

They even had a closure of the pool on Sunday around noon for poo in the pool!

Reminds me of Caddyshack! :rotfl2:

From the refrigerated aisle, I love their premade salads, the Lite Greek, the Chinese Chicken, the layered, pesto, cream cheese and sundried tomato spread, oh the burgundy lamb tips with Tzatziki and pita bread. From the frozen section, their Orange Chicken is great, the Potstickers, the Alsacian Tart (Flatbread with swiss, prosciutto and something else tasty on top), the Cheese Enchiladas, the onion soups, ANY desserts, you can't go wrong there. Don't forget the 2 buck chuck (Charles Shaw wines), I could go on...just about anything you try from there is awesome!

I need to go back and stock up!

:welcome: back We all missed you and were very worried.
Sorry to hear that your mother is not doing well either:hug:

....well, my mom had 80% blockage in her carotid artery. She was operated on July 6 and I've basically been waiting on her hand-and-foot, until last week, when she returned to Puerto Rico....she called on Saturday and complained that she shouldn't have gone home 'so soon' (she got the 'okay' directly from the doctor, who gave her a clean bill of health) - she literally didn't have to lift a finger while she recuperated at my house and now that she's home, she has to fend for herself. Guess she got spoiled and now she wants that 'freebie lifestyle' back.....* sigh * :guilty:

KIM - YAY you're back!!!!!! We've missed you around here!!!

So, who is GP???? What did I miss??? And, you had told me about your mom, glad she's better, but do you think she should've stayed?? Anyway - keep your chin up - it'll get better!!!

Big Hugs my friend - glad to see you back!!

Wow the day after we checked in 7/22 they started working on them. I know the elevators were a little wonky as DH almost got stuck on one:lmao:

 Did this all come about after you DS's graduation? I remember you posting a picture of the three of you.

:rotfl: I thought I missed something too... just like the whole "Hairball" in the pool thing or "Kittie Phelps" :rotfl2: Wish I had joined this group earlier:surfweb:

Cool pics of the movie at the pool! I've been considering if the 3 days + MNSSHP tickets will be enough for our 5 days we have time to go to the park and I'm seriously thinking we will be more than busy with stuff to do at the resort. Between the animal viewing, pool, water play area and the resort activities we may not go to a park at all on arrival day. Which may be the best decision since we will be up very early for a 6:20 a.m. flight.

I love to have my arrival day to just be a resort day. Of course my next trip I'm taking a redeye from CA so I'm always tired after those flights. :rotfl:

I have no clue either but I wont stand for somebody giving our Kimmar a hard time. :headache:

Well, I know ALL about the hairball and Kitty Phelps - but the GP thing - I have no clue!!! :confused3

It sounds like though that "GP" is NOT "fun" like the other stuff was!!!

What a great daughter you are! Isn't it amazing how these people who are sick feel so good while their every need is taken care of that they don't realize WHY they feel so good. Our friend (who was probably not nearly as ill as your mother Kimmar) had a heart attack, and stayed with us for a week. She insisted on going home. Within a week her Dr. told her if she didn't come stay with us, she'd go to a facility.

I hope your mom is safe Kim, but I'm glad you are getting some rest.

It sounds like though that "GP" is NOT "fun" like the other stuff was!!!

GP is Grumpy Pirate who tormented Kim on her Scrollie and Bacon thread. He even quoted the entire "Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts, monster brains and donkey butts" song, as well as the "eat some worms" song. He was a rather sick individual.
