Good Morning and Happy Weekend Jamborinis!! :goodvibes

Kathy, Congratulations to Dr Erin! :cheer2: Wow - that is an amazing accomplishment. Surviving 80-90 hour work weeks sure takes a lot of dedication. :worship::worship:

We are back from Tori's college orientation. :yay: She is so happy with her choice to attend Kennesaw State University! :woohoo: The campus is beautiful and very pedestrian friendly! ;) JD & I were amazed at the size of her dorm! She has a private bedroom and shares a bathroom and kitchenette with one other girl!! What a difference from my 2 older kids' dorm rooms!!! :rolleyes1

I guess y'all have heard about the WDW ticket price increases tomorrow. The 10-day MYW is going up 11.1%!!! :scared1: I guess Disney thinks the economy is all better.

Hello AKL Guru's.

I just switched to the AKL for our September trip, but all that was available with my discount was standard view rooms. I was curious as to if anyone has had a standard view that they thought was decent, or if they are all uggy. It's not that important to me, I was just curious. I know the standard views are all either of the parking lot or the roof over the pool.

Wendy,

Good luck with the shot. Think positive. It will work. pixiedust:

Kathy

Thanks Kathy - Feeling a little bit better today!!

HAPPY FRIDAY Morning.
Good luck with the shot:hug:
Thanks!! :goodvibes

We are doing OK. :goodvibes Everyone but the home health nurse has discharged him, so we are now in charge of his physical and speech therapy until they can get him scheduled at the hospital for his day rehab program. Hopefully it will only be a week or so before that kicks in! He is so nice and agreeable to all the therapists who come to the house, but when I tell him it is time for him to do his speech/swallowing exercises or do some PT he becomes a growly bear. I told him yesterday that he had them all snowed but I know the REAL Bob and I won't put up with his slacking off. :rotfl:

I hope JD and Tori have fun today! :yay:

LOL - Keep him on his toes!!!! Hopefully getting him back to the hospital schedule won't be too long!!! :)

:surfweb:We are making our first DVC trip to AKLvillas, our home resort on July 10!
:cool1:

Hello,

I have been to Disney just a couple times and only once with my children.

I just booked 5 days and 4 nights at the Kidani Villas. We have 4 children ages 3-7 and got a two bedroom villa. We are planning on going to animal kingdom park and magic kingdom.

We asked for a savannah view and the reservation person suggested close to the lobby and 2nd floor.

I was wondering if any of you thought this was good advice or if there are other things we should ask for or change. He also talked about the 2 bedroom suites in Jambo House, but they were nearly twice the price with no kitchen, so that didn't make sense to me.

Only my two oldest have been before and they were 3 and 1 at the time, so don't really remember. We stayed at the Grand Floridian that time, but were looking for more of a kid theme this time. My kids love animals more than characters, so that's why I picked Animal Kingdom.

Thanks for any and all advice.

We asked for this too on our stay - it's a GOOD request!!!

My bad... I thought someone had already put them out!

YUMMMMMMMM

Well..the next big phase of the trip planning went off without a hitch:

Ordered our theme park tickets.

We're still talking about doing the DDP. With 3 kids, it usually works out to be a pretty good deal....BUT, we've got friends visiting the same time (who won't be doing the DDP..they're staying off site), and my parents are coming along with us and they have their own room (and thus, would have their own DDP). I can see nightmare scenarios when we're splitting up checks at some of those meals.....

I'm just dreading the logistics of the DDP vs the ease of Plastic (and then settling up).

We'll probably decide by the end of the weekend.....

Hey - You really shouldn't have a problem with the DDP - just let the server know up from that it's all seperate - no splitting checks - we've had people with us before and there was never a problem at all. On another note, I hope you have room in your luggage for that stop you are making for me at Abbotts.................. (CRAVING BAD right now!!!) :)

We're back!!!

ok, here is the link to the :rolleyes1 "PHOTO trip report" (uh, um, also known as the "I don't have time to type anything up right now, but here's a peek at the past week's worth of shenanigans)

Awesome pics Stacey!! Glad you guys had a good time - Cam looks like she was having a blast!! :)

Today was a big day for us! :yay::yay::
My DD, Dr. Erin, graduated from a three-year pediatric residency program at a children's hospital in Philadelphia. :worship: Even though today was graduation day, she still has to work until the end of the month.:confused3

As of July 1, no more 80-90 hour workweeks for her. :woohoo: Erin starts her new job on July 6 working for a pediatric practice in Haddonfield, NJ.

Kathy,

"I" would like to live there!!!! :rotfl:

Sorry I didn't read back through posts I'd missed. Glad to hear the shot is helping. I hope this will all be behind you before too long.

I was a little shocked when I saw an email about the price increase. I figured August, but they tried to :tiptoe: one by us, catching us off-guard. :guilty:

Laura - I am so glad that Tori is happy with her decision. Her dorm sounds wonderful!

I had heard about the price increase yesterday and am floored. APs are going up $50. I am so glad that Kristin and her room mate decided to get theirs last month when they were at WDW. I don't see mine being renewed this year. :(

Oh my - I hadn't figured out how steep the AP increase was yet. FIFTY DOLLARS???!!! :scared1: Dang. I have to renew mine August 29, but that may be the last one for me too. I see more NCL cruises in my future!! ;)

Wow her own room? Shares a bathroom with just 1 other person? I guess times have changed since I was in college.

Does anyone know if there are pictures of a 2 bedroom at Kidani? I have never stayed at AKL before. Thanks

Good morning Jamborinis! :goodvibes

Robbie, It's definitely not what most of us picture when we think "dorm room"!! The bathroom has the tub/commode in a separate room from the sink/vanity area. The 2 girls also share a small kitchen that has fridge, microwave, toaster oven, counter space, cabinets and a breakfast nook with 2 bar stools! (These kids don't know how good they've got it!!) :rotfl:

You are in for a treat! :cloud9: I've stayed in a 1-bedroom at Kidani and it was wonderful! I'm sure someone here will have some pics for you, but here's a thread in the Resort Photos Forum that might have some useful information and pictures:
