That is something we would do if we were going to be there! I am glad you got your other tickets taken care of without too much turmoil. :)

RachelTori - that sounds awesome! Wish it was during our trip!

BTW, the cookie decorating activity at AKL, adult friendly?

I believe any of the activities are also adult friendly. You might be the only adult doing the activity, but probably not! :thumbsup2

Well, I am counting on seeing y'all there one of these days -- if not this year, then next.

I am having a hard time sorting through all the information, so I wanted to ask a couple of questions:

How long does the bus take from the AKL to AK?

We are planning on paying for a regular Savanna view, not the upgraded (Arusha) view, so based on that, what trail area should we request?

Also, should we still request the third floor?

Thanks! :goodvibes

 We often stray off-topic! There is an "unofficial" AKL FAQ but I think we're more fun!! ;)

The bus picks up at Kidani first, then Jambo House. From there, it's only about a 5 minute ride to the AK park. :thumbsup2

I'm unsure which rooms are the new Arusha view, but I'd suggest requesting Zebra Trail. I find that to be a very convenient location to the pool, restaurants, lobby and buses.

Third floor puts you on lobby level. That would be the floor I'd request! :)

Quick question: We've got a standard view room for 3 nights in July. Any "favorite" room requests from you AKL experts - its our first time staying there!

Have a wonderful trip Brandi!!

(I'll be right behind ya!)

OMG Brandi - What a HANDSOME graduate!!! Congrats to him and you and david!!!!! :) Hope you are enjoying the world right about now!!!! ;)

Tori's turn is tomorrow night. "Walking" is the most important thing to her (she was even willing to give up a trip to Australia if it conflicted with the Graduation ceremony). So guess what she did? Last night she twisted her ankle.

Oh NO Laura............ hope she's OK!!!!

FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL ALERT!!!

For those of us who will be at WDW the weekend of 10/7-9: Swan/Dolphin has released seminar and booking information for their 2nd Food & Wine Classic. Here's the link:

http://www.swandolphinfoodandwineclassic.com/

At 7am this morning, I was online booking the 10/7 Wine Blending Seminar ($39.50 plus tax). I had an issue where it seemed to accept my credit card and then I got the dreaded blank page!! BrownPaperTickets.com who is handling the reservations for this event has an 800# and I called it and think I got things straightened out!!

Mmm. I may!!!

I think right now, I'm hearing (and seeing... sigh) people talk about zebra domes here and on AKLs FB. I somehow missed those when we went last year!! Are they only in Boma, or can you get room service/Victoria Falls/anywhere else??

(Rereading from pg 1.... ) :surfweb:

Oh my GOD. I am late to the party on this one -- Kidani has a coffee shop!?!?

BRB. Gotta do some more web research on that....

Zebra domes are served at Boma (dinner) and you can buy them at Mara. I think they come four to a container.

Thank you, I needed my dose of Sake's Alive craziness:rotfl2: Getting ready for to send hubby off again for 2 mos. I should be used to this by now:sad2: and I have, well DD has a dance competition tomorrow also;)

Hi Everyone!

I am very excited. I just booked four nights at the AKL in July. This will be my family's first time to Disneyworld!

Thanks for all of the great information. I had a hard time deciding on which resort to book, but AKL seem so enchanting.

Congrats to Janessa! :goodvibes

Our original graduation date (Grayson H.S.) was May 26, but with that week of school closure (the big storm!), they took away some of the Student Holidays and extended the school year by 2 days.

For those who are following, Tori's ankle is getting better. She's stayed off it (as much as is possible for any 17 year old!!) and has kept it wrapped. She walks tonight so if I can just keep her safe for a few more hours....... :rotfl:
