Sail Away Drink Discounts?

I've heard that if you wait until halfway through the "Sail Away" show, you can get the fruity drinks for half price... is this true? Has anyone done it?

i've never seen half price but i have seen two for one. it happens very quickly and you may never know its going on unless a waiter is asking you. it seems to be so they can get rid of what they have left. more at the very end of sail away and not so much in the middle.
this will sometimes happen during the week to, just before people are disappearing for dinner.

Ask the CM if there is B1G1. If not, tell the person to find you if they do! As long as you are within the CM line of sight, he/she will find you. Give them a nice tip and you have a fan for the cruise.

Because I always second guess myself with stuff like this - what would you consider to be a "nice tip" in a scenario like this?

last day, 2 bucks! First day 5! That's if you plan on using the bar service and they seek you out with the discount offer. And one better, hand him/her the cash. They will remember just the thought. There are just so many people that are rude and demeaning to the CM's. For the DW and I it's about the environment of DCL, but we do are best to contribute to them as mush as they do us. IMHO ONLY.

I've never gotten a half price drink but I agree a smile and an extra dollar or two is much appreciated. I really can't think of an unpleasant experience on any of the 15 Disney cruises we have been on. The staff is lovely. We have been on other cruise ships so I recgnize the difference.
