OK....

Lame-O SSB does not know hide nor hair (what the heck does THAT expression mean! haha) ... about plants, gardens, flowers... but all of YOU do! So....

SSB is really in need of some oxygen in his life, and remembers the photosynthisis (sp?) dealee... so what plant or plants would you recommend that SSB purchase?

Help SSB, please!!!!

:D ;) :D

SideShowBob! Bud, Buddy, Cruisetoberfest Pal! Why not try something GREEN!!!??? :p :p :p

Seriously, here are a few good ones to look for:

~ Some sort of Philodendrun.
~ Dieffenbachia is a favored plant (aka Dumb Cane)
~ Dracaenas - very tough plant
~ Coleus is always fun to grow (but it is red, not green)
~ Maranta (aka Prayer Plant because the leaves fold up as if in prayer at night)
~ Spider plants are NOT good if you have kitties
~ Sansevieria (aka Mother-in-law's tongue) My favorite indoor plant. Requires no care and lasts 4eva!
~ Some sort of ivy plant - easy and long lasting.

Wish I had a website to direct you to so you can look at pictures but it's a starting point for you.

Good luck and have fun.

Thanks my Bud!!

Er, um... may have to print out and take to the nursery, not sure that even with all of my years of Latin that SSB can pronounce some of 'em.... haha!!

:D ;) :D

Indoor plants start contemplating suicide as soon as I buy them, so I can't help you there SSB. I have two black thumbs for houseplants, one of Doom the other of Death. :p

We have a small bump-out, greenhouse type window in our kitchen, and the only thing that seems to survive is cactus..........the manly type of cactus...if you know what I mean....LOL! ;) :)

good ones that require little or no care .....are spider plants....pothos.....ivy....I have one that is almost twenty feet long....any type of philodendrun.....they are really hardy....heck....go to walmart or Home Depot and take some of their big floor plants home....they have a good selection too.....and if you kill them they are not really expensive....hahaha....I also have two or three peace lilys that are just starting to think they belong here.....good luck

Kim I am reading your post and laughing. How can this be, guess what Mamu also has a black thumb when it comes to houseplants. I can relate. :)

Sorry SSB no help here either. Outdoor plants lots of help. Indoor plants no help.

Dieffenbachia is a favored plant (aka Dumb Cane) one word of caution here should not have these around small children or indoor pets.

Dumb Cane Dieffenbachia All plant parts contain calcium oxalate Intense irritation of the mucous membranes produces swelling of the tongue, lips and palate. can result in death.

Hoya's also know as the wax lower are very easy to grow.I grow them for their foliage as much as anything. Some are really beautiful. They can be solid green to varigated with white -green-pink.

Had no ideas, that SSB would get some many.... er, um.. "ideas"!

Even a few high adventure ones, and the revelation that an outdoor plant person might not be an indoor plant person.

Hey, maybe SSB will be and INDOOR plant person!

:D ;) :D
