It's the world we live in todayI'm American and it is just as backward to me, too. I truly wish I was living somewhere where it wasn't a common thing.

I get that but he doesn't need to take it on the trip. That's the point I'm making..you're worried about violence while you're away and in your mind the way to avoid violence is with a violent gun. Again, it's so backwards to me. That's not a knock against you personally, it just shows how different our countries are in our attitudes towards guns.
There's a different thread that shows a picture of people with rifles strapped to their backs and they're at the store! I can't imagine living somewhere where that's a common thing.
He is not worried at all. I just think that everything that has happened over the last few weeks just has me on edge. The shooting in Orlando the groping at the pool at pop and one of the water parks. And now these cops shooting again.
You clearly don't visit Texas much (not sure what kind of emoji to put after this statement so I'll defer from adding one)I just want to say that in all my years on this earth, in America, I have never, ever observed an individual carrying a rifle in public.
The only time I have seen a gun outside of my husbands is during hunting season. People around here do not open carryI just want to say that in all my years on this earth, in America, I have never, ever observed an individual carrying a rifle in public. I really don't think it is a common thing at all, but it is unfortunately viewed that way and I'm not sure why. I can't remember the last time I've actually seen a gun besides the ones carried by our law enforcement officers. Guns simply aren't an important part of my life and I would imagine it's the same for a very large portion of America as well.

Well if it keeps going like this in the states I will have to move north of the border. No, it isn't. Its not my world..it's your world. Your perceived world and I'm sorry for you.

You never went hunting as a kids or to a shooting range they are big things here in upstate nyNever been there in my life.
Fair enough. I know that it's not a common thing but the fact that it's allowed at all just makes me show my head. Just like you know we don't all live in igloos and say aboot..right?

Now, I don't know aboot that. Let's not get all drastic aboot this.
Is it hard to keep the house frozen during your 4 days of summer?
There is talk of passing a low to have gun training for teachers here in the states and that every classroom should have a gun in it. I don't like this world we are living in now
Wow I was raised around guns since my dad's father owned a hunting store and had gun safety classes for young kids.Nope. Never held or shot a gun in my life. I'm a very sheltered American apparently.

Say what?!
I got nothing else to contribute here. I'm skimming through this thread and caught that.
I live here in "the States" and that's news to me. I can't think of a single one of my kids teachers I'd feel comfortable with a loaded gun and my kid around. No.
