We will be staying at the HRH first week of July and was wondering how safe the rooms are? Should I leave my laptop in the room and my kids nintendo wii? I'm concerned that it may rain and we may need something to do in the room since we are staying five days. We also want to use them for the long ride. But my husband is concerned that the items may grow legs and walk out of the room. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks:woohoo:

I would not advise just leaving those unsecured in the room, although we stayed at HRH for 4 nights back in 2006 and our laptop was just fine sitting on the desk (we were very trusting back then). I would recommend maybe trying one of those laptop security devices to attach it to a permenant fixture in the room. Maybe the front desk has a way to hold it for you while you are out and about?

Why provide someone the temptation of stealing your laptop and/or Wii? There is a strong possibility it won't be stolen but there is always the chance that it could be. I think we have a due diligence of trying to keep others honest by removing opportunity - when you travel, if there is nothing to steal from your room of value, than nothing will be stolen.

We took our laptop when we stayed at the RPR this past May without problems. I don't see any problem with bringing a laptop with you.

The Wii, on the other hand, could be more of a temptation. The Wii might be small enough to fit in the in-room safe, although the controllers, games and cords would have to be stored somewhere else. Maybe you could call the hotel and request the dimensions of the room safes. Also, could you bring a luggage lock with you and lock these items in a luggage bag. I suspect that locked luggage would be left alone.

i do what patster said.

i have luggage locks and place all valuables in the suitcases.

no worries then.

you can buy luggage locks anywhere.......from kmart, walmart to clothing stores that have travel sections.

Good Idea!!

Great advise, guys. I didn't think of the wii fitting in the safe, thats a possibility and the lap top could sit at the bottem of a locked suitcase. Thanks again, I hadn't thought of those things.
