Safest place to stand during MK fireworks?

I know "safe" is a harsh word but watching Happily Ever After is like going to a mosh pit at a concert and when it's over the movement of people feels like it's one loud noise from a deadly stampede.

Are there any safe spots to watch the show, meaning you wont be pushed on all sides by 100s of people all filming it on their cellphones crammed in like sardines. I don't need to be dead center, I've seen it enough times to know it all. Now I want a place I can go and actually enjoy it and then when it's over not have to suddenly battle for my life to move, maybe we could just hang out and let everyone else disperse.

So for someone who has seen the show front and center in the prime viewing locations, where can they go to actually enjoy it?

A CM suggested upstairs on the train station. We've also had good luck at the fence behind the grassy area in front of the Plaza (near Tomorrowland)

I know its crowded, but I've never felt like its a mosh pit. Anyway, I like watching from the bridge to Tomorrowland. Its a little bit of an angle, but not bad. There will be others on the bridge too, but it isn't packed (at least when I've gone). Upon exit from there, you can take the Tomorrowland Noodle Station route...if a busy day, they may open the side exit that goes behind and parallel to Main St. Otherwise, you can either join the crowd or take a more leisurely route thru the shops.

We typically do upstairs train station or area left of castle.
I too don’t like the sardine feel. Good luck.

Just my opinion, but I think this is a bit overdramatic and exaggerated. It's nothing like a mosh pit, there's nothing "unsafe" about it, you don't get pushed on all sides (at least we never have...ever) or battle for your life to move. Yes, it's very crowded, but I've never once felt it unsafe. I've never once seen anyone get actually trampled or pushed to the ground. Sure, I've had people bump into me, and I've accidentally bumped into someone. That's bound to happen in a giant crowd, but IMO it's never even close to bordering on "unsafe". If you're that concerned about it, try the train station, Poly Beach, ferry launch on the TTC side, behind the castle (near the Carousel).

I always watch from the top of the train station. It doesn’t feel so “mosh pit” up there.

I didn't feel unsafe, but I do understand what the OP is saying. When we watched from the Hub, the park wasn't closing after HEA, and we wanted to make our way to Tomorrowland. I hoped to just kind of hang out till some of the crowds were out of the way, but we were not able to stand in one place without the crowd pushing us toward the park exit. We had to actively work our way against the crowd to get over to Tomorrowland.

I'm buying dessert party tickets for our upcoming trip, and we will try the Tomorrowland bridge next time we watch without doing the party.

While I agree the Hub isn’t exactly “mosh pit” intensive there’s WAY more people in that small space than I’m comfortable with. We watch the fireworks from the left side of the Hub (facing the castle) with a fenced in area in front of us so there is no one directly blocking our view. It is a little off centre but not enough to ruin the show.

The other positive to our particular spot is we can just scootch down to Adventureland and avoid the crowds until they dissipate when the show is over.

We watched on the Liberty Square side just past the bridge. We did just hang out behind the Christmas shop a little bit to let first wave of crowds leave. The projections are on the side of castle.

If you don't care about the projections, the exit of BTMRR is a good place to watch from. No crowds at all.

The former FP viewing area in front of Casey's, IF they haven't closed it off entirely to use for viewing for those who have paid for the extra FP+ at club level rooms. Upper level of the train station, or off to one of the sides. Basically, anywhere out of the hub, the crowds will be a lot less intense.

Do the dessert party. That will get you a good & safe viewing spot in the garden.

I like the walkway between Bay Lake Towers and The Contemporary. Either the bridge or the ground level. No crowds and easy exit.

We completely lucked out - I went to get ice cream and my husband saw that there were still tables outside the ice cream parlor. We found a table closest to the railing and pulled two chairs closer to the railing so noone would stand in front of us. The cast members kept people moving on the walkway in front of us (there were bushes between us and the walkway), so we had a pretty decent view. I won't say it was a perfect view, but it was good enough for me.

I get that it feels super busy on Main St. sometimes! I'm interested in trying to view from the train station after reading this post. We watch from the beach at the Poly every year on the last night of our trip and LOVE it :)

I've never been up there but I thought people used to say that became a VIP area so people couldn't go up there. Is that not true anymore?
I was allowed to use the VIP area for the fireworks ( it was right in front of the dessert party area and it was roped off. I am pretty sure there was only one spot for VIP
