safe to leave strollers unattended ?

We have never had any issues with our stroller, or anything in our stroller being stollen.

That being said, any time we have taken our daughter we ave had other people there with us and I use a small cable bike lock to lock our two strollers together. A CM can still move them if they need to (with a little work), but it makes stealing them both just about impossible.

We also have not taken her during a busy time of year either.

The CM's do move strollers. I think they have CM's that it's their dedicated job to keep strollers organized

Actually, this is true - my DD pulled this shift a few times during the holidays, and believe me, it's not a job that's popular - too many guests yelling at you for moving the strollers ! And she has lots of stories about what folks leave unattended - including one time when a family parked their double stroller and started to walk away with their toddler, leaving the sleeping infant in the back! When she stopped them, they told her that it was fine, they'd been doing it all day and the baby didn't mind . Needless to say, she told them they couldn't do that, nicely of course, and they left - but they were pointed out to security . . .

Sooo unfair! I've always been stroller free. This time we are taking our 3 y/o GS, so it will be our first time with a stroller. I've taken my GD down there a few times, but she never had to use a stroller. So this is a first for us. We are planning on being extra careful, but still I'm sooooo hoping we won't be one of those rude stroller pushers people come back here and complain about.

In our first stroller experience, we never had any problems. We left our stroller for long stretches while we did the attractions in that area, and like many other previous posters said, it did get moved by the CM's at times, but usually not too far. Nothing valuable was ever left in it (except the one time I accidentally left my brand new iPhone 4s in the cupholder, but it was still there when we returned to get the stroller!), and we only left the bag in it that wouldn't ruin our day/trip if it was swiped. All that was in it was a bunch of extra diapers, a pack of wipes, and a smaller cooler bag with DS's cup of milk in it.

As for something to identify your stroller, I got a couple of stroller tags made for me over on Marion's Stroller Tag Thread. We got one for our WDW trip and one for our upcoming Disneyland trip. We punched a couple of holes and attached it to the stroller handle with some zip ties so it wouldn't be easy to remove.

What I have gathered from reading this thread is that MOST of the time, you do not have to worry about leaving your stroller unattended, but it is like anything you leave unattended, there is always a small risk of it being stolen. Same as leaving your car in a mall parking lot while you shop. You may go your whole life without ever having your car stolen, but there are still people who unfortunately are victims of car theft. Just do what you can to identify your stroller as your own to prevent it being taken as a result of mistaken identity!

I think it's safe but i think you also have to have some common sense. I wouldn't leave anything in it that we couldn't go with out.

I made our tags at home. It's rather simple and not time consuming at all.

In the 17 days we've spent in the parks, we've never had an issue, and we leave a good sized soft sided cooler hanging on the stroller with drinks and snacks in it. Never had anything swiped. Granted, we do take our older stroller so it's not much of a desireable item.

We had our stroller taken at Disneyland. It was rotten and I still think about it. It was a cheap stroller, and we located it after much searching. The problem was they was nothing in it. They took the diaper bag out (nothing valuable except diapers and wipes) and the two jackets in the stroller. One a Mickey toddler jacket and one an irreplaceable jeans jacket of my husbands favorite team. The jackets were underneath the diaper bag at the bottom. Oh yea, they got some bandaids too.

What can I say, sometimes people suck and you just never know what will happen. Absolutely do not take an expensive stroller worth stealing and leave nothing you cannot live with in the bottom of it and then you will be fine.

Are the designated stroller areas that everyone is referring to clearly marked??? If not, how do people tell? I mean if just based on a group of strollers being parked, then if one or two people park, people may incorrectly assume that is the designated area. So how to identify???

I wish they added this to the park maps!!!

Here is a list of restaurants I am heading to, are there possible parking areas nearby or am I able to bring to table (folded up):

We have never had a problem. We have left backpacks with water and snacks in them. Of course, we didn't have expensive strollers, so that might be a consideration.

There are marked stroller areas near some of those areas. And I've never been anywhere in Disney that allows strollers, even folded up, at the tables. Thank God.

Of the places on your list, I've only eaten at Chef Mickey's, and there was a designated stroller parking space outside of the restaurant. I'm sure most other Disney TS restaurants would be the same. For the CS restaurants, we left DS in the stroller a few times and rolled it right up to the table.

Just don't assume that your stroller will not be taken and remove all valuable items from it before you leave it. Also, we watched squirrels raid strollers at AK!! It was very funny, but if there was food left in the stroller they were all over it!
