Feralpeg- We are looking all over. Windermere seems to be a great area. I have a few houses saved that I'd love to view when we come look. I saw that Valencia has a west campus close by that offers a partnered program with UCF. I would be thrilled to be close to a good college, nice amenities and so close to the parks! What do you think about Winter Garden? Thank you!
A question for those that have made the leap and moved down to work for Disney. How long did the hiring process take (I assume like any large organization things move the speed of molasses)? I'm looking at a full time salaried position and threw my hat in the ring on Monday to see what happens. A couple of days ago my dashboard on disney careers went from submitted to in progress (from step 1 of 8 to 2 of 8).
Just curious as I've been looking now at real estate in the area over the last few days...
Can anyone recommend a good quality homebuilder? I've been looking around online at new and 'newer' homes, partly for fun and partly in case we ever decide to jump on our daydream and head south. I see that Lennar is building a lot of new homes, but they have awful, terrible, horrible, reviews. Beazer seems to have troubles too. Any insights?
I live in celebration and was driving to winter garden this morning along hwy 429 they cleared a bunch of land and there are toll brothers signs on it. They are very good builders.

I think that's the new Lakeshore community. I've been receiving email updates from them since the community isn't expected to break ground until Fall. There isn't any pricing info listed yet, though, so I'm worried it'll be out of our range!

Are you moving? Oops read that wrong and thought Peg was ...never mind!Twinprincess- That was awesome! Thanks so much for sharing!
Feralpeg- My daughter's major will be nursing. I do believe the west campus offers that and partners with UCF in a concurrent program. That would be a plus to living in Windermere or Winter Garden.
We've had several good showings on our house and a repeat showing to a couple that wants to bring family is upcoming. Praying for a contract! I'm believing June is our month!
OK, so since we just found out hubby can work from home and still keep his job from PA when we move to FL in a month or 2(woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), it makes our rental search a bit easier in regards to choosing from various locations. I have several job offers around the Orlando area(one in Celebration for DCL, habve my interview on Fri., one in Dr. phillips, one near Oveido, etc).
I'd love to know which town you think is the best to live in, in regards to good schools, safety, affordability, proximity to Disney(I know, but my kids are so excited about that), is pet friendly and you can get a 4 bedroom rental for under $1700 a month.
We had narrowed it down to Ocoee, Oviedo, Clermont, Winter Park, Winter Garden, Dr. Phillips and Windermere. Am I missing any other places that you would choose if you could???
Looking for AlaskaOh wow, how interesting! My 18yo will flip out! She loves John Green. She is reading Paper Towns right now. She read his other book "Chasing Alaska" I think it was called and of course "Fault in Our Stars".
