Safe deposit boxes at BWV???

We should be closing soon on our BWV contract and are hoping to go late Jan or early Feb. Coming from Maui, we can either get in late in the day or early before any rooms would be available. My question is that if we get in early, we would leave our luggage with bellmen and go to the parks. We also carry cash, passports, credit cards and other valuables that I would not want to leave with the bell services. Does BVW or BW Inn have safety deposit boxes that we can use for the day for our valuables. Also do the 1 bedrooms have wall safes in the room? If they don't, then the front desk has to have safety deposit boxes.

All of the BWV rooms (even the studios) have a small safe in the rooms. Look for it in one of the closets. Should be large enough for for cash, passports and credit cards, but not sure about your "other valuables". They aren't large enough for laptops, but I have left my camera in one without a problem.

Can't answer the question about the safe deposit boxes & the front desk. Ask at check in - there should be something they could do for you.

FWIW, I believe any call to a WDW Resort's main number will go to the centralized "Front Desk" call center. Those CMs may or may not know the answer. Unfortunatley, you can't always count on them to give accurate info. Just beware.

P.S. It's better to leave the valuables at home if at all possible - esp if the items are large. (I'm talking about jewelry, collections, etc.). Many DVC members report that they leave their laptops in the room without a problem. Some use cable locks and some just put them out of sight, perhaps in a locked suticase.

There actually ARE safety deposit boxes at BWV. I only happen to know this because my husband and I stayed there in a Preferred View Studio this past February 2008 and we searched the entire room for the wall safe. When we couldn't find one, we called Guest Services and were told that there were safes in ALL of the rooms and to look in the closet. Well, this particular studio did not have a closet. It had only an armoire with the TV in it and the vacuum. The front desk did not believe me when I told them there wasn't a closet! So they sent someone up to "show us where it is" and lo and behold, no closet, no wall safe. Turns out this was a handicap accessible room so maybe this is why there isn't a closet? Anyway, we went down to the front desk and spoke to a manager regarding what we could do about securing our valuables and they gave us a safe deposit box in the back office - the access door is across the hall from the sundries store to the right of the lobby (can't remember the name). Anyway, FYI, not ALL the rooms have a wall safe (not in February 2008 anyway) BUT they do have safety deposit boxes available in the back office. Not sure if they would allow you to have a box if you already have a wall safe, but no harm in asking. Also not sure why some of the cast members there are unaware that some of the rooms do not have a safe - that seems fundamental to me.
