I'm planning my AK touring plan, and we'll be doing RD with EMH's, crowd level 4 day

Touring plans has us going to Safari, then EE (child swap), then Pangani

Is it okay to go Safari, EE, Pangani? Seems like a lot of back and fourth walking, but of course looking at a map it's hard to gauge how much walking that is? We're active people so a full day of walking doesn't seem bad to us, but I know a lot of people say AK is huge, not to underestimate the size.

Wondering if I switch it to do EE at RD, then go do the Safari?

Or, save EE for the end of the day? I'm sure we'll stay until park close and maybe with child swap EE line won't be so long after 4 or so?

We could also FP EE too, as so far I don't have all 3 of our FP's allocated for. The only FP's I have on our list now is another safari later in the day, and Kali.

While it's true that Ak is bigger than the other parks in area, a huge chunk of that is the safari. The actual walking area isn't really that big. We walk a lot less there than we do in other parks.

The way we tackle AK is to do 2 laps - We hit the rides on the first one, and see the shows and trails on the second.

If your planning to child swap EE anyway I would just use the single rider line. It moves faster than any other single rider line at WDW in my experience. I have never waited over 5 or 10 minutes. Once when the standby line was showing 50 minutes I rode EE 5 times in less than 40 minutes using the single rider line.So one of your could wait in the gift store with your little one and the other rides and then when they exit just switch. That would also open up your schedule as you won't have to worry about getting right over there. The Safari would be a much better choice for RD anyway as the animals are more active in the cooler morning.

This is good to know. As I said it's hard to gauge it from the map!

If you go straight from Safari to EE at a decent clip and without stopping along the way, it will take less than 5 minutes. As Alesia said, the actual walking area of AK is not at all unreasonable.

I'd do EE first just because it is a shorter ride and it doesn't allow much time for the lines to build at the Safari, whereas if you do the Safari first, it gives 30 minutes or more for a line to form at EE. But as others have said, you can always just do Single Rider.

I would not double back to do Pangani. I would do Safari at RD, then enjoy Pangani (2 baby gorillas there now!) then do the single rider line at EE. You won't be waiting more than 5 minutes for anything that way.

You won't have any trouble walking there but what I always find frustrating at AK is that because of the narrower paths, it's easy to get stuck behind slower walking people/groups, people on scooters and the ubiquitous stroller brigade. I think 10 minutes to get from Kilimanjaro to Everest is a more realistic time frame but that's just been my experience. And I'm a fast walker.

I would do Safari, Pangani, and then EE via Single Rider line. In fact, you could probably do EE even later if you wanted to get some other things done beforehand.

That would be a pretty slow walk. If you walk at a typical adult pace (around 2.5 MPH,) it'll take about 5 minutes

Probably true, if you are already all the way out of the safari ride. I didn't look up the distance on the map, but was just guessing. ...so 5-10 minutes...
