Our first AK day is August 17. The park opens at 8:00 with early entry at 7:30. Right now on the Disney website the opening time for the Safari is listed as 9:00. That's later than I expected. Does that ever change? (I know park hours often change, but I'm not sure about individual attractions.)

Also, park closing is 7:00 but the Safari closing is 5:00. I thought that would be later.

It can change but there’s no guarantee it will. Today’s park hours are also 8:00 - 8:00. KS hours today are 8:00 - 7:45 but daylight hours are longer today than they will be in August. I’m guessing they may change (especially AM) but it’s only a guess.

Sorry, not much of an answer but nobody really know for sure.

The animals have their own union. Can only work so many hours a day 😁. LOL

Actually, it takes some time to get the animals out and feed , than back in a night. That is why sometimes the hours don't match the park hours

So, it appears that sunrise in mid to late August is just before 7 am. That's similar to mid to late April. In April the park opened at 7:30 am (7:00 early entry) with the Safari opening at 8 am. So, sunrise/sunset shouldn't be an issue. I just wasn't sure if anyone had ever noticed the opening time changing once posted. I already have a plan where we were going to ride the Safari around 8:30. I like that plan. I'd hate to have to change it, but I'd hate even more to change it and then find out the Safari opens earlier.

It really seems to vary. We were there in April. EE was 7"30, park opening at 8 and first safari was 8:30. We were on one of the first few safari's. The animals were much more active early. Highly recommend going early.

Just wanted to give an update. The Safari hours for my AK park date have been extended. They now show as 8:00 am - 7:15 pm.

Where are you finding specific ride hours for a day in the future??

Right on the Disney website. When you look at the Safari page there a spot to change the date.
Thank you! I always just thought those were the park hours on the rides.
