Safari or Everest First?

Safari first has always worked better for us. We always do that first, a couple rides on EE, watch Nemo, Kali a couple of times and finish with Safari again.

There can be exceptions but most animals move around more when it's not so hot so I'd say safari first thing and then hoof it over to Everest. I'd also get FP+ for the safari for later.

I like safari first because they are often feeding during park open and animals are more active. Then ee and kali. Then fast pass something either safari again or ee. Have a nice cool down with a lion king show or a snack.

Other than the first month that Everest opened, we have always done the Safari first, and then headed straight to Everest afterward. And every single time that we have done that, (and I mean every single time), Everest has been a walk-on for our first ride, and either a walk-on, or a wait for the next train for our second ride. And we could have ridden a third time with less than a 5 minute wait each time. In my experience, the line at the Safari builds more quickly, so it is best to start there.

Completely agree with this and it's not even close.

The last trip (late June crowd level 8) we even stopped to see Minnie on the way from the Safari to Everest. Walked on once, waited maybe 10 minutes on second ride and then rode single rider a few times.

Safari wait times start building by 15 minutes after park opens. Everest not for about 1 hour.

Agreed. You can easily ride Safari, Kali and then Everest 2-3 times all before 10:30 even on very busy days.

Last spring break (week before Easter) we rode EE three times in a row and then went to Safari and walked on. RD was at 8 and we were on Safari by 8:30, this was the best Safari we have done as far as animal sightings.

You rode Everest three times and walked to Safari from 8 to 8:30?

I think that a lot depends on your touring. I have a (bad) tendency to get sidetracked at AK. I love the animals and shops and it can take me a while to get from ride to ride.

I would always do the Safari first because the earlier in the morning the better animal activity.

I would do Safari first. When we were there last Christmas, my older boys were able to ride Everest 6 times in a row in the single rider line; that line went quickly, and since you need to swap anyway, I'd just do the single rider instead of regular standby.

I have a different philosophy due to personal preferences. At rope drop, we can often ride Everest 5 or 6 times as a walk-on or practically so, then head to Safari while it still has a reasonable line. Multiple rides on Everest is VITAL to me, Safari can be skipped if necessary.

We are having breakfast at Tuskers and will be in the park early. RD in front of Safari means Safari first. Then plenty of time for a couple of rides on EE.

I have been playing around with touring plans customized plans and if we go straight to the Safari, we have a 30 minute wait at 9:00 and EE has wait of over 20 minutes a little after 10:00. This is the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend. Perhaps I should FP Safari at 9 and then FP EE at 10:00. I've got plenty of time to continue to play around with it.

I wouldn't bother getting an FP as early as 9am. I would wait until 10am at the earliest to get your first one. You could do Safari first and then EE without FPs, and then go back later and do them both with the FPs. You could also do Safari and EE late in the day, after 4 or 5pm, without FP, if you are staying all day. The lines get much better later.

I might have misunderstood, but I wouldn't necessarily count on being able to get an FP for Safari at a kiosk during the day. We tried this in July and last week without initial luck. I say initial, because after stalking the app over a period of about an hour last week, I was able to switch mine to Safari, but it was for later in the day (~5pm).

Everest. We did Safari first and we were there before RD. By the time we got to Everest (immediately after our safari ride which was walk on) Everest was a posted 30 minute wait. It was closer to 10-15, but still a wait. You can ride Everest and be on your way to Safari 5 minutes later.

What about with EMH? I'd kind of like to do EE first (as PP said to get a quick ride in), then move to Safaris and do the Pangani trail and the 10AM FotLK. I would think it would take 10-15 minutes to ride EE once and head over to Safaris. Would 8:15-8:20 be that bad of a wait that I should do it first? I hate the idea of going on Safari first, booking it to EE and then back? I may just FP EE for later then.

Yeah we are definitely commandos at rope drop, we were on the first train and kept going like commandos... after we do what we want then we slow down and look around while we wait for FP's.

My wife just came back from Disney in Feb. and the crowd level was 7 most of the time. She did Safari first then hit Everest 3 times. By the 3rd time the wait was 25 minutes.
