Sadness!!!

Our trip was to begin this Thursday, Nov 10 and end around Nov.25/05 We were to be in Disneyland Nov. 14-21.

Our 2 year old son fell on the weekend and he will be in hospital in traction for the next 2-3 weeks and then will be in a full body cast for the next 6-8 weeks. By then I will be to pregnant to travel as we are expecting Early March 2006.

Thank Goodness our DS is ok, but I needed a moment of Feel sorry for myself and shake it off! Thanks for listening!!!

I am sorry to read about your son's accident. I hope his recovery is speedy.

Even as parents, we are still allowed those selfish moments when something doesn't go as planned. I know it's disappointing to not be able to go, but thank God your son is ok. Sounds like a pretty serious fall to require traction, wow. Poor little guy.

Tink33 had a great idea. I'd love to be able to send him a postcard from a Disney character too. I won't be at Disneyland anytime soon, but I will be at Disneyland Paris in a few weeks. Please pm me with your address if you'd like me to send him (or you ) a postcard from a character.

Oh no!!! That is so sad! Saskatoon winters can be brutal. You really need a winter break!

I am so sorry. Our 5 yo son fell from a play structure on August 26 and broke his arm BADLY. There were all sorts of complications and the long story short is he needed to have it reset TWICE and ended up with four different casts. It came off on October 24 and the doc gave us clearance for our Disneyland trip that we took from November 5-9. Our trip was a special celebration of his bravery and we just returned. My suggestion would be to rebook the trip post traction and post birth, and do some extra special things for him while you are there as a reward for all his patience!! We saw lots of families traveling in Disneyland with tiny babies. It will make for a different trip but still completely doable I'm sure. Good luck and much patience to you too!! That will be a long few weeks for everyone!
