I work at a utility company. We had a customer that we turned off for nonpayment in early February. The police department called yesterday wanting to get the power turned back on. It turns out that the gentleman committed suicide 2 or 3 months ago. The neighbors told our field rep that the man's wife had left him around Christmas. Isn't it sad that no one has missed him in all this time?

It happened here on LI. It seems that the man died of natural causes a year ago. It wasn't until his pipes froze & burst that anyone checked on him.

That is really sad. He must have been retired, no kids or estranged from them. We had something similar in our neighborhood, several months went by till the woman was finally found in her house. Guess it happens more often than we'd like to know. Some people are so alone.

I live on LI and this exact scenario happened to one of our neighbors when we were kids.
