Sad news at my house today

Thanks for explaining that. Shiloh has what appears to be a "bulge" on his back hind leg. It's right on the bone and almost looks like a swollen joint due to arthritis. He doesn't limp or act like it bothers him. He's due for his yearly check up in a few weeks and I'll point it out to our Vet. I'm hoping and praying it's nothing. He can still run, jump, etc.

Blondie: You may want to take Shiloh in now. It may be nothing but it also may be something that if caught early enough would help. Just a thought.

I'm sorry to hear about the cancer :grouphug: and :wizard: your Kellie is beautiful.

I am so sorry. We lost our beagle, Cruella to cancer a couple of years ago. She resembles MsDisney23's cute doggie. Sending loads of PD & Ps your way.

almacdonald,,the only person i will allow to take me to task in this thread is the person who started it,,, i am allowed my opinion,, in fact i fought for it,, my body was violated by lead more then once,, i lost family members in a war, and i watched my friends die defending that right for people like you,,, its not criticism, its someone speaking up for an animal in severe pain and whats best for that animal,,,, that person already answered me in a diplomatic/intelligent manner,,, you have no right/reason calling me a jerk,,, if you can't present an argument/opinion in a diplomatic/ intelligent/thoughtful manner, then don't.

I am so so sorry. She is a beautiful dog. I lost my 6 year old lab in January 2003 to lymphoma. Chemo would not have helped him - we tried prednisone, and he lived about a month longer, and he had a good quality of life until the last day, when we knew it was time. He had been on a lamb diet because of his slight allergy to meat products, so the diet went out the window (well, almost). We fed him cheese sandwiches (no mayo), chicken, soup, and just about anything else he wanted (and he loved those sandwiches!). I'm sure she has had a great life with you. Again, I am so sorry.

I am sorry your doggie is so sick. I know what you are going through. My westie has been diagnosed with bone cancer in a vertebrae. She had surgery and we were going to do radiation but the tumor is growing back. According to the oncologist, she is not in any pain right now and she told me to consider her in "hospice" and told me the signs to look for as then we will know it is time to put her to sleep. She is still interested in life and eating and drinking and barking at trucks that go by. It is difficult. It will be difficult for your child as it will be for you too. Sending prayers and PD your way.

I am so sorry to hear this!! I will keep you all in my prayers!!

We found out today that our dog, Kellie, has bone cancer in her shoulder. Please keep us in your prayers. DS-10 is putting on a brave face but I know when it comes down to it, he is going to take it really hard when she passes on. DS-6 doesn't really understand the gravity of the situation. Thank you everyone. I know it will help if thousands of my Dis friends will think of us right now.
