Sad Day - Canceled Trip

I had the sad experience of canceling a 10 day trip to WDW, staying at a 1 bedroom at BWV with a wait list at BCV. My brother and his family are going to be there too, so our kids were going to get to play together at WDW.

I had a scheduling conflict come up last month that I thought/prayed/hoped would be resolved prior to our planned trip, but unfortunately, that didn't happen.

I had to cancel today because we are 31 days out from our planned trip and I wanted to make sure our points went back into our regular bank and not into holding.

I'm so bummed! I had a Cabana reserved at BB, lots of ADR's and the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party all set for our extended family to enjoy. Not to mention, just looking forward to hanging by the pool while the kids swam.

Bah..just had to share my disappointment. I hope someone on a wait list for Boardwalk gets to enjoy My 1-bedroom.

So sorry for you! It sounds like you spent a lot of time to make this a special trip for your family. I can understand canceling before the 31 day mark. At least you know there is a Disney vacation in your near future!

So sorry to hear of your cancellation. We had to cancel on very short notice last year so we had a bunch of points go into holding. We did manage to get a 1 br at OKW (originally it was to be BLT 2br) 2 or 3 weeks later. Not easy to do in October.

We also missed out on a family vacation. I had been looking forward to seeing my grandkids have the time of their lives. They were already there waiting for us. Oh well, there's always next year.

Hopefully your next trip will go off without a hitch.

So sorry. I know this is a huge dissappointment. I had to cancel/reschedule 2 times last year, once for food and wine and the other which we had reschedule for my birthday. It was supposed to be a sisters getaway, but her medical issues interfered. I was finally able to get a quick weekend away in May with a girlfriend, but it wasn't the same.
Hope you have luck re-planning a family trip!

Sorry to hear that. I am in the same boat, I have a reservation in November for BWV, then I found out about 3 weeks ago that a work conference is scheduled for the same week. I've been lobbying for this conference so I can't very well say I can't go. I've been looking at other dates, not much availability. I want to make sure the dates are 100% before I change it. Just my luck they will move the dates of the conference after I change it.

I am sad for you too. For health reasons I just had to cancel my purchase of VGF and the May reservation I had booked.

I'm sorry for you. We're in a similar situation... had flights and 9 nights booked for December and there's a system conversion at work - I have to be there. We're trying to reschedule. Paying the flight change fees (we didn't book SW this time) plus the new rates is killing me!!

My conflict ended on Thursday and after much debate, we decided to go to WDW as soon as possible. Rooms at SSR were available starting Friday, but no flights on the airline we had credit on until Monday.
So, we leave tomorrow for WDW! I was able to get back all of my ADR's, including the Wishes Dessert Party on Thursday. Woohoo!
So happy this worked out after all.
