Hi to all,

I have been wanting to do this for so long and looks like I may get my chance this November. I am looking into renting points for a studio stay at Boardwalk Villas (I have been to WDW plenty and stayed at various resorts but haven't rented points yet). I apologize for asking what so many have probably asked but I have reviewed the FAQ and other threads but couldn't locate these answers in any of the other threads:

1. As maid service doesn't come everyday and as I am staying in a studio (no washer/dryer) do I request towels everyday or does Mousekeeping just drop them off in the room everyday?

2. If I do want the room cleaned everyday what is the fee?

3. Are the laundry rooms on every floor or every other floor?

4. Do I get to use Valet services if given key that says DVC guest?

5. If room is not ready upon checkin, have you ever left a medium sized icecooler with bell services (instead of in a hot vehicle)? Also what are chances that room may be ready for checkin early (say 8 a.m.)?

6. As I am looking to go 3rd week of November (not Thanksgiving week) will I be able to still get a standard studio room at BWV within the next month or so?

7. I have used the Friendship boats in the past but want to know if when you take the buses to MK do they also stop at any of the other Epcot resorts for pickups?

Thanks for all of your help.

Towels are changed during Trash and Towel day (4th day of stay) and during a full room cleaning (not until 8th day, if staying that long). If you want a change of towels in between, there is a charge.

You are welcome to use valet parking, but you may have to pay for it. Technically, renters are not eligible for ANY of the DVC discounts. Some people have reported that they were asked to show their blue DVC member ID before this and other perks were extended.

Completely unknown. For that to happen, a room would have to have been completely vacant the night before. Would depend on the occupancy level of the resort. I certainly wouldn't count on being able to get into a room that early.

I'd say it's pretty doubtful. The "standard" view rooms really don't have a bad view, IMO, and the lower points make them very popular. Thus they are often the first rooms at BWV to book.

If it were more than 7 months before your travel date, I think the likelihood would be higher. But since you've passed the 7-month threshold, any of the 80,000+ DVC members can book at stay at BWV for the dates you have in mind. Even though the week you describe is not a peak travel period, you may be lucky to get ANY room at BWV now--Standard OR Preferred view.

7. I have used the Friendship boats in the past but want to know if when you take the buses to MK do they also stop at any of the other Epcot resorts for pickups?

There was some talk of bus routes changing, but the last I heard, BWV busses were also servicing the Beach Club, Dolphin and Swan resorts.

On valet parking, I've never been asked to show DVC member card and either have my guests staying on points at the BWV. I can't speak for other resorts but at the boardwalk when you are staying on points even as a renter you get the same treatment. You will be expected to tip and that's a whole other debate about how much and when. We always tip $2 on the way in and $2 on the way out. They don't pool tips so if you like the service and you want to make sure your valet is compensated do it both ways. If we have any special requests we give extra. I have stayed at the boardwalk at least 10 times since 1998 and that is my experience. I've never waited for my car more than 10 min and usually its waiting for me when I call from my room. I have never self parked and don't even know where that is. LOL

...and this thread has a post from Happy Birthday Cat reporting that he was asked for his ID card to valet park:

The perks are given very inconsistently from one location to another, one Cast Member to another. Technically renters are not eligible. More often than not, they probably will receive discounts, but you probably don't want to make a scene if declined.

just one laundry room at the bwv laundry room first floor turn right as soon as you get off the elevator 2 washers 4 dryers.

you can have mousekeeping everyday for a fee, i dont know what it is..... $30 something a day:confused:

Is the laundry room for the Villa guests in studios? Are they machines that need quarters?

Laundry rooms can be used by any villa guests, but one bedrooms and above have a washer/dryer in the unit, so studio guests end up using the laundry.

You don't need quarters to run the machines (just start them without money) but you'd need them to buy soap, unless you bring your own.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just faxed in papers for a BWV resale. I've been looking at points for studios vs 1 BR and was trying to figure how convenient (or not) the laundry for the studios is. Can't be worse than sharing with the entire resort (and paying the quarters :) ).

If room is not ready upon check-in, have you ever left a medium sized ice cooler with bell services (instead of in a hot vehicle)?
Bell services have a *huge* refridgerated section & we've left stuff there a bunch of times. Things have always come to our room in great condition. I wouldn't hesitate to leave all of my groceries with Bell Services...

On the other hand, we've never been able to check in prior to 4:00PM, so I wouldn't count on that.

Actually, what you need is to find out from a member if there is availability for the time you want and then see if they will rent you the reservation for the time you need and the price you agree upon. You will probably find lots of members who will rent you the points, but if there is no availability, you will have no need for points.
