Going to WDW next year w/another family of 4 (their kids are DD6 and DS6)and we are trying to decide between 2 SV studios or a 2 bd value because they are close to the same amount of points.
Can anyone tell me what type of view the 2 bd Value has and is it a good size or will 8 people be too crowded? I will take any info you can give.

thanks!

the values are only at Jambo - so the master bath is only a combination tub - it has a whirlpool - but not a separate shower.

the bedding is king in the master, queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom, queen in the second bedroom with a double sleeper sofa.

there is not the extra room you find in the standard views.

if you can afford it go for a 2-bedroom at Kidani - it has more room - plus an extra bathroom (3 bathrooms instead of 2) and the master bath is the one in the models - so again plenty of room. Kidani has standard views (not value)

a studio is the same regardless.

We just got back from a week in a 2 bedroom value. We scored a savannah view with no obstructions. it was room 5236/34. We were 4 adults and 2 kids. We took the one bedroom part, and my parents took the studio part. Two more adults or kids could have fit, but it would have been a bit tight. HOWEVER, I still think it offers more room than 2 studios because it gives you three rooms (master, living room/kitchen, and the studio) and you get the full kitchen.

The biggest disadvantage was there are only 2 SMALL armoire-type closets in the values, that's it!

Our room was at the VERY end of the hall which put us quite far from Mara, the pool, etc... but I told my dad that the view was more important than being close to the elevator, and we got a GREAT VIEW!!!!

The only time we've stayed in a 2-BR was at SSR. Other than OKW, 2-BRs are pretty close to the same size at other resorts. My understanding is that the values are about 3' or 4' shorter in depth than the other rooms.

When we stayed at SSR, we had 4 adults and 2 kids. We didn't have a problem, but if we ever did it again, we would stay at OKW. Unless you have your heart set on AKV, OKW would offer you tons more space for probably close to the same number of points. OKW rooms are HUGE, and have a large balcony. The main living area is much bigger, and the 2nd bedroom will have 2 queen beds whether it is a dedicated 2-BR or a lockoff. Just something to consider as you're making your plans.

Here are some OKW pics and some info if you're interested:

Do you have any pics of the room you can post? We're staying in a 1-BR value, and I'd love to see what the 2-BR looked like. Thanks! :flower3:

I might spring for the 2 bedroom standard as well. We had a 2 bedroom value last year for our family (2 adults, 2 small children) and it was just fine. For 8 people it might be a bit tight. The points difference is not that great to go to a standard, and in Kidani you get the extra bathroom. It also depends on how much time you will be in the room. Our master bedroom was tiny (you could JUST close the door). The view can be a savannah view, but you have no guarantee. My brother stayed in OKW as well and said it was enormous!

Have a great time!
